Generally unless you're doing something really stupid with the car, no. You will have to replace your brakes and tires sooner than you likely originally planned :p

Yep, you'll need to limit to 5-8 laps per stint for the stock brakes, just so you don't overheat them too much. I used mine for 5 track days and ~30-40k. At the last track day, I overcooked the front rotors (totally my fault for going way hard) to the point where I had to get them replaced, and obviously the pads. Obliterated my rear tires that day too (lots of drifting) and so I picked up a full new set of our tires from a friend for pretty cheap. Only replaced the front tires about a month ago from that set.
The stock tires are pretty fun too. They have a fair amount of grip, but you can also get sideways fairly easily if you're inclined to!

Is this the "spotted" thread or the "track day" discussion?

Definitely do some autox or track on the stock tires. They're WAY better to learn the balance of the car than by jumping right to sticky tires.
Depending on your skill level, you're probably fine for the first couple track events on stock pads/fluid if you're running stock tires. You can definitely over heat them once your skills improve, but unless you're a huge natural, you shouldn't be driving that hard the first day on the track. Check out the SPDA autoslalom school in the spring (usually late aprilish), Hanson schools or the OTA school (typically early may).

I still have not been to a single Wednesday night meet yet and I'm ashamed of that. I was going to potentially come out tomorrow but the Leafs season opener is on...maybe I'll swing down after.
