So does anyone feel like they're hitting the wall yet? I hit lvl 24 this weekend, solo'd all the missions, strikes and patrols on earth, moon, Venus and Mars. Only stuff left is the daily/weekly strikes etc. I tried a few this week that were rated at "very hard" and it seems like one guy would always bail at the beginning. Getting killed over and over and usually the other guy would bail too. One guy stuck with it on the Mars lvl 24 strike. I think it took us about an hour to complete it. Got a legendary engram that dropped and the cryptarch deciphered it into a rare primary weapon, one I already had. Doesn't make sense.

Pretty sure I'll never make it through VoG.

I've been at 24 for a bit as well. I'm about 400 points from vanguard level 2 but enough credits to buy a couple armor pieces. So once I get that I figure I could get a couple levels.
Sounds like you're in the same situation (possibly).

Yeah the grinding gets a little old and so far I've tried not to be a skeptic of the game cause so far I've really enjoyed it but I do think the reward system is a little screwy. And I'll also admit I'm not a hard core gamer so now the levels are starting to get pretty hard. I get the feeling that once you hit lvl 20 in this game it starts getting geared more towards the hard core gamer. Not saying it's a bad thing necessarily, but I don't want to start rage quitting. I want to continue to enjoy it and see where the story actually progresses. Just not sure if I have the skills or the patience to take on some of the higher levels like VoG. I'm worried that the expansion packs will only be filled with super hard levels which means that potentially a large segment of the casual gamers will get left behind.

I did when I was at 24, but progressed past it quickly after Lu it my first legendary. So far what I've noticed is that leveling up only puts you relative to the next higher difficulty. If you're under level compared to the mission, you take more damage and do less damage, I've read 20% per level, that's the biggest risk.

The Queens wrath seems like the quickest way to get into legendary gear, then once you have a couple pieces, more gear comes along a little easier. Buying an exotic from Xur is a quick step up as well, and since it can be leveled up to 30 light it can be a good foundation for a level 30 build.

Didn't touch VoG over the weekend. Tried the weekly strike at 28 with friends both at 28 and me at 25, and I just didn't have the damage output to support us so we gave up after a bunch of wipes. 26 now, nearing 27, hoping to not be worthless in l28 stuff soon.

If you guys don't have a clan, feel free to join this one. It's just a couple of friends of mine and I so far, and it probably won't get big or go anywhere... er, I mean.. JOIN AND ALL OF YOUR DREAMS WILL COME TRUE!

Played all weekend and couldn't get the last 2 ascendant shards I need to get to lvl28. Never did so many public events in my life, didn't even get a single shard. Also did like 15 strikes hoping to get a legendary armor drop but nothing but blues.

The thing I'm wondering about is what I'm going to do when I'm 28? Seems like I'm going to be stuck doing the same things over and over again until I hit 29....then 30.

So yeah I'm also feeling like I'm hitting a wall, not so much cause I'm stuck, more cause there's nothing left to do.

How many vangaurd or crucible marks do you guys have? Use them, buy gear, break em down.


Did vog with my titan, I got the Scout rifle, the shader, and an ascendant shard from the last boss.

Working on my 2nd alt. That one should be 28 by friday. So 3x weekly nightfalls/strikes, 3x vog! :P

I did that to get to 2 shards away from 28, but then I hit level 3 and bought a legendary gun. Only had 1 mark left and I've been maxed out for the week since saturday morning.

I would really prefer to find those 2 shards before I spend half the week getting another 65 marks that I'd rather spend on a gun.

And that's my point. The game is, unfortunately, becoming VERY repetitive. I really don't want to keep doing the same things over and over and over just hoping to pick up a lucky engram or piece of currency here and there. And I don't like the Crucible. Sorry. If I wanted to do PvP I'd much rather play Titanfall or something similar. I'm starting to feel like some of the criticism of this game is becoming justified. Hopefully it will get corrected.

The criticisms are justified. This game is a horrible attempt at this type of genre.

That being said, the gameplay is great. Granted its repetitive mostly unrewarding gameplay, but its still fun.

PVP is so broken. Its one of the worst pvp systems I have ever had the misfortune to experience.
Exteme lack of content, even with their "Event" it was just the same missions with some modifiers and then they added some "Fabulous" rewards. (On a side note, it gets really annoying seeing all these people with welfare legendaries :P Just me being an elitest. Not being serious)

BUT, the raid was actually done really well. The mechanics are challending and although you are not garunteed any kind of loot, its still fun to do.

If I had a static fireteam to run the raid, I'd run the raid everyday. Granted you would not get any loot after the first run, but after running it enough, you would get the mechanics down to a science.

Currently the fastest the raid has been done was ~35 minutes.

In all actuallity, defiance is a much better game than destiny in terms of content, communication, guilds/clans, Pretty much every aspect.
