Citizen Pulsar E6B (and my corporate color FitBit for our "FitBit Challenge").
Interesting tidbit, the scratch visible on the crystal right about the P, in Pulsar and the one between the 16/17 on the lower right are not visible to the naked eye (or at least mine). Didn't even know they were there until I took this picture. I can feel it with my nail but can't see it. Of course, now I know its there....ugh.

I think I found my next watch: Seagull 1963
![]() That's an original. The contemporary release has the star filled in with red. Costs about $250. Maybe a bday gift for myself? |

Too old school for me personally, makes me think of something my grandpa would wear. But it's a nice watch.

I love this. Not sure if it would be a good buy. I'm not very knowledgeable with watches. :/

Personally though, I'm a mechanical snob. That works out to what ~$800 for a quartz watch. About what I paid for my Tissot:

Depends on what you want from the watch. Quartz are generally more accurate but IMO not nearly as fun. Autos just have that something else. Autos are typically more $$ too because more goes into the movement, finishing, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Quartz watches have made mechanical watches obsolete when it comes to accuracy just as cell phones have pretty much made watches obsolete and expensive man jewelry. If you only care about how you think a watch looks on your wrist, it doesn't really matter what's driving it as there are tons of very handsome quartz watches out there. Personally, if I was going to buy a battery powered watch, I'd get a g-shock and call it a day because I like the charm of mechanical watches. Automatic mechanicals are cool, but for Super Fly OG Pimp status, you want a manual wind.

Not really. It's like carbs vs modern fuel injection. Digital efi is better in all practical objective measures, but carbs are cooler to look at.
But mechanicals seem to hold value better/have more prestige.

Well, you guys have made me curious as to what the automatic watches "feel" like, and what makes them better for some people.
Will do research.

But I have, um, many. And winding and resetting when I want to wear one is a bit of a nuisance, especially on older ones without quickset dates. Autos I keep 6 in a winder, and only need minor time corrections when I'm ready to wear one. It's the idea that appeals to a lot of people. A, beautiful (inside and out), super-precise, spring-powered, gear-filled time keeping computer on your wrist.
