Did anyone get theirs at time of pre-order?

Did anyone get it after their preorder and if so how long did it take/was it from dealer, or SoA?
It sounds like New England distribution is being handled differently from the rest of the country, so you're probably fine.

Subaru of New England does indeed do their distribution differently. I pre-ordered my BRZ on 3/2 and was told that SNE does not do VONs. Their system is based on when the orders are entered into the system by the dealer.

However, they should have provided you with an order confirmation which shows the trim, color and transmission you selected. It's a simple printout that also shows when the order was submitted. This is what SNE will use in determining when you will receive your car.

They should have a sold order number once it is actually in the system.

There has never been an official release date. When most of us pre-ordered, the factory had not even begun production. We all have two options: wait for the car to come, or don't wait for the car to come. *shrug*

^^^This.

This is obviously your first time pre-ordering a car, THIS IS EXACTLY HOW IT WORKS. SOA is not the people you should talk to about this, you need to fly your ass over to Japan and give 'em an earful.

I can't wait till the cars actually do get here. Then hopefully these whine threads will die down a little bit.

/Thread.

But I'm getting antsy.

In reality, if Subaru had a 'release fortnight' scheduled, I'd at least have something to look forward to, and I could stop looking at other cars. But not knowing if the car will come next week or next month bugs me but I'm dealing with it.

Wow OP! This has to be one of the largest overeaction threads in a while - and there have been a few.

No one has lied. You'll get your car somewhere around the time they said. Go smoke some dope, get drunk, snap one off, whatever works for chilling you out.

Me too! I sold my car in January and have been begging rides for months! It is the first time in 25 years that I have not had my own transportation... After driving the FRS, I am convinced the wait will be worth it.

Me? I can wait as far as August and have no problem with it. Just more money to be saved for the car. I don't get why people get angry about this type of stuff. SOA never said " you WILL have VIN's by April 30th, or you will know in what port the car will be by then, etc.
The answer is simple, some people just need to find fault with something things.

We already know the price, options, colors, etc. now all we have to do is wait and that is why some people are getting mad

Maybe in Canada words mean different things..... but I'm not really whining, this board is covered in "my sources" I put out a call for actual sources, and told you who i had talked to,

I was told I would get weekly updates and to expect periodic changes to the status of the car, I'm not sure why you think expecting people to do what they said makes me a whiner...and since none of you know me I'm not sure why you all think I'm so angry, it takes a bit more to anger me I have larger things than a pending toy delivery going on in my life,,,,I would like to know which track day I'll get to take 2 cars to though,

I put out the info I had and asked for people to share their info if they had actual sources...

It's not like you guys haven't all been a part of delivery and pricing speculation threads,

sounds like your issue is with your dealer and not SOA. If they told you they will give you weekly status updates a) they are on crack to tell you that and b) you are on crack to believe them. Actually, that is unfair to crack, let's just say they should've thought that one out.

Dave at SOA told me he would give me weekly updates, I wouldn't expect a dealer to care that much about a car that is already sold.
