Wouldn't think so, but perhaps a tune would be able to block the speed output from the ecu to the head unit?

OFT users chime in.
Maybe @Shiv@Openflash snuck another little upgrade in there recently?

No touch screen here, just the crappy one that requires 5 button pushes and a spin of the knob to use the speeddial.

That is a very cool perk of Open Flash if that's the case...

Anyone else?
I used AVIC411 to update the X9310BT to X9410BT sw last year. This gives more location details with nav searches. Also added the no nanny hack to avoid the prompt at startup and to disable safe mode to allow dialling and entering nav locations while rolling.

I remember BMW getting "caught" with the stereo engine noise thing. It'd be pretty funny to prank an owner by replacing engine.mp3 with something else.

I can tell that my car has a sound tube because the sound in the footwell is very directed. I might disconnect it to hear what the engine really sounds like. I bet it's pretty quiet though.

Can you elaborate? I still need to use my phone 99.9% of the time for nav since I can't just input say a town or city. You need an actual complete address. I hate that.
Every car should come with Google Maps

It's got a deeper sound with less rasp - aka intake noise. I honestly think I prefer having the sound tube. Seriously I think I prefer the sound with it.
Sure it might clutter up the bay a bit, but the only time I see the engine is to check oil, change oil, or add washer fluid.

EDIT: Saw a Hot Lava I think in Plantagenet.

Even with the hack it's pretty bad. When searching for a POI, it lists locations instead of just distance. Still does not just take a street name.

To the folks with Flash tablets and tunes,

I am wondering, if i have a completely bone stock frs, adding the flash tablet, prior to exhaust and intake mods, Will i need to do a different tune once I add those mods? - and can I use the same tablet, Im curious if the open flash tablet has multiple maps for stock frs', and bolt on mods for the frs, if there is any difference..

I'll answer the second question first.

The OFT allows you to store 5 different tunes on the tablet in addition to the stock tune which is always stored. The tunes that you store on the table can be for any configuration. Generally speaking there are octane specific tunes for each mod variant of the car.

By that I mean for stage 1 tunes (stage 1 = no headers or supercharger) there will be a 91 octane, 93 octane, and E85 standard tunes available. Similarly for stage 2, except that stage 2 assumes a catless header.

AFAIK there are no gains to be had for either intake or exhaust mods and as such there are no specialized tunes for those so you would just use the Stage 1 tune. The caveat here is that if you are creating your own custom tunes to get every last bit of HP then you would start with a stage 1 standard tune, which is pretty safe, and then you could customize based on the logs with your mods.

The cool feature is that you can store both of those tunes on the tablet at the same time. You just need to name them appropriately.

Like he said. There is no limit to number of tunes. Up to 5 are on the tablet at a time but keep as many as you like on a PC. You can swap others onto the tablet from a PC anytime.

Tuning for intake and exhaust can be done.
I'm on the 93 tune with Perrin inlet tube and it runs fine. Could likely optimize the MAF table.

Has anyone local tried tuning the MAF?

Once i get a tablet, ill try things out!

Nice that we get multiple tunes, so without bolt ons i can do stage one, and with bolt ons, can still keep stage one, and will see improvements? i hear not tuning with bolt ons, causes bogging
