This will not be a big issue for Subaru. For them it is the worst selling car. They are doing much much better by selling the forester's, the outback's, the WRX's etc. Besides, they want to focus now on their new universal AWD platform. BRZ doesn't fit very well on this direction. If this comes true, then Toyota will have to change the boxer engine with a smaller displacement turbo engine from BMW. This is the current trend and now Toyota understands it.

However, I wouldn't buy this car . I prefer the low center of gravity of the boxer engine. This makes the car unique! Besides, if you want such a car then it is already available. Go buy a Genesis or so many others ..
There is loads of speculation out there about what BMW and Toyota are going to put out but very, VERY little fact. Everything I read about them doing a sports car (again all speculation) indicates that if they do it is not going to be the $30000 car that we have now but more of a supercar/hybrid combo in a price range that would put you in a top line Porsche or better.
The poor little twins would just go away and the ones we already have will turn into actual collector cars.

They have already a prototype of this supercar/hybrid combo you're mentioning. It is not just speculation. They also mentioned about a possible collaboration for the next BMW 1-series. If this comes true, it is on the same price range of the twins. Personally, I hope all these to not come true. I want the little twins to go on their 2nd generation with Subaru. Otherwise, everything is possible. Even the little twins to become collector cars. Time will tell.

Sorry Stevesnj we sorta hijacked your thread here! I think the point is that you can wait forever and take your chances on the unknown or go for what is known as fact right now.
I thought of playing the waiting game to see what would come out next but when I saw the minor changes between the 14s and 15s decided to just pull the trigger now. No regrets at all, as I got a great deal on the 14 (the 15s were on the truck on their way to the dealer and they still had 5 14s sitting on the lot). After driving a 15 I think I prefer the handling characteristics slightly better on the 14 (could be placebo effect in that I already owned the 14). You are actually at a good time of year right now as there will still be loads of 14s around that dealers will be willing to deal on. Even with the "pure pricing" there are other ways to get a break from the dealer if they want to move stock. I paid full price for mine but also got the TRD exhaust, lowering springs, drop in filter, window tint, clear bra and hood protector and Scion lip spoiler for just an extra $1500 as the dealer REALLY wanted to sell me the car.
Look at it this way. Every day you go without one is a day of lost fun you will never get back!

Yes we hijacked a bit his thread. Personally, I was trying to explain why the 2015 model is the actual refresh model and why the changes are limited. This gives also a fact of what is coming for 2016.

Thanks everyone for the discussion!

He's been making this same thread for over 2 years when people were wondering "what the 14's would be like".....he's not really interested in buying one, just an online pretender.

Let's just skip to the end. Wait until the announcement is made that the car is going out of production and buy the final model year. That way you'll be sure you got all the improvements.

If they are indeed improvements!
Over the years I have seen the manufacturers "improve" great cars to the point they were no longer usable for the purpose they were originally built for.
They have already (my OPINION only, others my differ) dumbed down the suspension on the FRS and called it an improvement. What is next?
New emission requirements that drastically reduce performance could be released any time the various governments involved feel like it.

It's a more safe and controllable car that even Tsada says it needed to retune the suspension but enough to not take the fun out of the equation and not make counter-steering an every corner event. I will control when I wanna go tail out not when the car decides.
