Torque App Knock Detection App

I have had the torque app for a while but over the last few day I have been using the knock detection add-on. When I run it, it say there is knock detected and the results indicate the ecu is pulling timing -0.5 at times and sometimes as much as -1.5. I am completely stock running shell vpower 91.

Just wondering if anyone else has used the knock detection add-on and if it is accurate. I know the stock tune can knock at times just don't like seeing it for my own eyes. lol.

I will be running Ultra 94 in my next tank to see if torque detects any knock on 94.

Its probably not too far from the truth.

However torque does not actually measure knock diectly ie FBKC FLKC or IAM.

It looks at timing throttle ect and runs some algorythm to estimate knock probably lokking for rate of change of timing advance.

I filled up with Ultra 94 tonight and did a few more pulls. It seemed to lower the number of knocks detected on torque with not many pulling back more than -0.5.

I will be ordering an OFT next week. I am going to log a few pulls using OFT prior to flashing the stage 1 tune and see what it picks up.

I've always used shell cuz of zero cricket noises until I got the OFT. Before the tune, it showed a lot of knocks with OFT on Shell.

Currently, I am running OFT Stage 2 UEL 91
I have UEL headers, pipe, exhaust and CAI

After the tune, noticed much less knock on shell, but still quite a bit. So after trying all the gas stations and a lot of logging, I find that Shell 91 is the worst for knock.

Esso and Huskey are better, but still had occasional knocks and minor crickets

Ultra 94, super annoying crickets, almost no knocks.

Another factor to knocks which I just realized recently was the temperature. So I endedup pulling more timing for temp and noticed much less knock. Currently, if the temp is above 25 degrees, occasionally I see about -.3 to -.69 on FLKC. I guess I gotta adjust the temp. timings a bit more. Our gas in Toronto just sucks.
