Now, based on my own judgement on where to see the single pixel of the wheel (this will introduce error since this is not a precise measurement...), here is the revised comparison.

You can see that now the back of the GT-R is within the FT-86 image. I guess this is probably off one or 2 inches...

This is not an exact science....
shhh secret squirrel sure it is

im liking this size

GT-R front should be 712mm

You are indeed correct. I need to re-do the whole scaling thing...

I'm just happy that it ends up making the FT/R-86/S a teensy bit smaller. Every little bit helps!

OK, take 3, and 70NYD will not like this. Now it seems that GT-R seems a bit bigger....

Version 03:
Name: ft86_vs_gtr_03.jpg
Views: 1441
Size: 85.4 KB

Version 02: (incorrect scaling based on wrong wheel diameter)
Attachment 1073

Version 01: (scale based on length rather than wheel diameter)
Attachment 1071

So between 01 and 03, they are a bit off. Do not trust the image on 02 since it was done incorrrectly.

Cool

Hmm. Long Thread.

The Silvia Ichigo?
Yes, please.
The Concept is a small car.
And the frontal area looks like it'll be (width x height x .81) = 18.78 Sq.FT about the same as a Silvia. Once we know the aerodynamic drag coefficient we can multiply that by the frontal area to find out it's aerodynamic profile, 5 sq.ft. is pretty good profile for a sportscar so if it's anywhere near the low .30s it'll be decent. Since the rear quarter looks like it has a shallower angle than the 350z we know it's probably at least decent.

Puh, you guys are not taking into account the pressure of the tires with tire bulge on top, and the weight of the car decreasing the height on the bottom.

I kid, I kid. Scaling by using pics of the Stig standing next to the car would be good too, 'cause we know he's always the same person

(Not my comp of course, just prettied it up)

roling diameter is found from from the aspect ratio so for eg a 225/40R18 has a aspect ratio of 40%
so the wheel height is 2 times 40% of 225mm (since there 2 sidewalls to the diameter) + 18" (but in mm)
so
(2*90)+457.2 = 637.2mm
and measuring across the wheel (ie from front to back rather than up and down) will get rid of the error due to flattening where the tire meets the ground
just a suggestion
As for the Stig, when I first heard about it I just assumed is was Stig Blomqvist (sp???), the old rally driver. I never realized it was a game for ages...

There have been a few stigs to date. The first one was fired because he revealed his identity in an autobiography.

^ The last one was launched off a carrier and killed because he revealed his Identity. Ben got off easy I think. lol.

Depending on the car, the Stig has also been Micheal Schumacher, Marc Jean, and various others doing the wheeling, However, there have only been 2 Official/Real Stigs.
