We sell both and install both, lots of both kits out there. We don't like to play favorites no matter the margins, we are held at the outcomes since we install/tune/sell, not just sell. We actually just did two back to back within about a week.

JRSC is the most polished when it comes to packaging, and has the easiest learning curve installation wise...until you add the oil cooler. Then it takes some careful reading to make sure the routing is correct. Has some nice details like MAF straighteners, but we tune hybrid SD anyway. MAF WILL run out in cool temps if you extend the redline. Works fine for the CARB tune, but in the cold northeast it is a different story when you do anything above stock boost or raised redline.

Kraftwerks...we've done their kits on the MX5 and BRZ. The advantage is the more complex independent drive, the CHOICES (i.e. C38) and of course the price. Despite the independent drive, it actually takes my tech an hour less to finish.

Now with the added complexity and choices, there is room for packaging mistakes to be made, wrong coupler etc...but any pro shop can take care of that no problem. DIY folks can too, but don't fret about it because this is actually more or less the norm. Check out any turbo kit producer these days. Same issues. GReddy is perfect every time, but there's a reason it costs over 2k more for the same HP level, and double the install price.

Otherwise I have yet to have a single person come back and say they really wish they went with one system over the other.

A note on oil coolers--they are not free lunch. Big AN fittings can come loose, oil block adapters can loosen with time, and in reality most folks don't see the 250+ temps you need to worry about with modern synthetic oils. Not that we don't love selling oil coolers, but be prepared to keep an eye out on fittings and any small leaks, and periodically check to make sure all is tight (with every oil change). It's not for everyone. A proper install is key, tight torque and lots of red loctite on the adapter bolt.

As for the push lock hose, I'm not sure why people are having leaking issues. It isn't specific to any one kit, and the hose is rated for 300+ psi. So to have it pop off is rather odd. You can add the clamps for extra security with any kit, don't overtighten them and it won't do any harm. We've done that when asked.

Power wise I think both kits have adequate IC piping, intercooler core dimensions, and use the same blower. No power gains one way or another IMO. We see similar numbers no matter the system. C38 will make more power no doubt, but for a given boost level you just can't cheat physics when the biggest difference is blower placement and pipe routing.

CARB is up to them as to when it makes the most sense, keep in mind for a manufacturer the later the better since it backdates to the last model year. Can't blame anyone for waiting. AFAIK the JRSC kit was about a year in development, so that tune took a good bit of time as well. With the EcuTek support over lots of little stuff that makes the difference, I see no reason it won't pass when they are ready.

Vendors.. remember that there's no reason to attack each other.. you haven't quite gotten there yet but it doesn't appear to be too far into the future given the tone of some of these posts....

Thanks.

Thanks for the input..
my problem right now is that in my small city, theres only 1 shop and they mostly do high HP muscle cars.. so im not sure id be comfortable getting them to tune it,
Is it ok to run the tune they offer? or should it be fine tuned to the specific car before going hard..

If your car has the stock cats then I recommend avoiding that tuning shop and getting the factory tuned Jackson Racing SC kit. Their CARB tune was tested extensively in all environments to ensure safety and reliability. Simply install the SC kit (6-8 hours by yourself taking your time), flash the tune and enjoy.

If you end up wanting more power then you can always get a custom speed density hybrid e-tune from one of the experts like Moto East, Delicious, HRI, and you should be fine. No reason to risk your car with a shop with no FA20 tuning experience.

Yeah, I was just looking around at headers so I figured the factory tune may not work perfectly with an aftermarket EL header, but I guess I can wait on that,
Wife is getting sick of my car part expenses as it is

I would recommend a catless header with a supercharger to eliminate back pressure and the risks associated with

Also, I recently posted a video of the KW kit in the owner's thread in case you missed it
