I think anyone who expected to get the car BEFORE May was delusionally optimistic. Every source from the beginning has been saying late May to early June. Maybe they will show up a bit earlier, but expecting them to is another story.

Patience is a virtue

This thread is hilarious. From the beginning I have been told and have been expecting end of May to first of June for my car to arrive. My dealer basically told me he wont know hardly any info until the car physically arrives on his lot.

This is standard for Subaru.

My dealer told me upfront that I would likely know more about the car, when it would arrive, etc than they did.

They've been more or less accurate.

you guys are so cute you act like I'm the only one frustrated by the endless line of changing stories and you all now pretend like you have known since day one....when the date would be...

and I was told late April to early May,

and no-one has even bothered to give a source of data,

When I gave my dealer my deposit on the 25th of February he told me the car will likely arrive the last week of May or the first week of June. Seems like even the Subaru marketing campaign thread had the same info.

When that time comes and I still don't have info, then I will get mad. Until then everything else is just speculation.

These First 86 shipments are making the BRZ crowd a little stir-crazy.

If only you weren't complaining and bothered to look. Not sure how long you have been on the forum, but here's something many of us have seen.

As a point of reference, the configurator on subaru's website didn't officially go up till 4/12. Unless you were expecting to have your car before dealers even got one, you have been hoping on false pretenses.

March 1st, when ordering:

Quote:
Hello *******

Thanks for the note. There is no premium if you do decide to pre order a BRZ. At this time Subaru opened the sold order system and I could actually put in an order for the car. However I still don't have any information as the pricing on the vehicle.
We have a certain number of cars that have been assigned to the dealership and I am expecting to see the first ones around May or June.
Feel free to call on me with any additional questions.
Best Regards

When Pricing came out:

Quote:
I still have no time frame as to when the car will get here. However I expect the first ones to arrive in May or June.
Let me know if you have any additional questions at this time.
Best Regards

Before that I was told late spring... There have been some media types saying end of April, but I know not where they got that info.

I wrote to SOA regarding dealership allocations and customer pre-orders using this guy's info. SOA told me the info was accurate, so I wasn't expecting any cars before May.

My dealer told me straight up from the beginning that I'd probably know more than him and that dealers are in the dark about this car. He has given me every peace of info he has. At least I have a VON. Lol.

I'm not sure there has been changing stories. It's always been May. Some magazines got peoples hopes up for late April but if you look you'll see that I posted "doubt it" and "shipping ~April 20th from Japan.." not "OMGBBQ I get my car in April!!!!"...

Whoever told you late april was a bad source. Subaru has ALWAYS said ~mid May. The credible source of that (SoA) has been posted here multiple times already.

Interesting effect of how GBS is darker than DGM in those pics. Could be the on-camera flash effect. Just saying.

I know everyone looks at that timeline on that marketing page. But go ahead and read the introductory paragraph. Look at the end line.

"A glimpse of the new BRZ, will be a memorable event"

This is EXACTLY what they are doing, so they are carrying their marketing plan very well. I don't still understand why people get worked up about a car not being here when it was never announced to be here this early.
