I'd get another new Toyobaru in all honesty unless it no longer was an option, I don't pick the cars I own on a whim or emotion. A big reason I bought the car was I had a list of all the things I wanted in a new car...the Toyobaru actually got it all including RWD and an affordable cost. Being a coupe instead of a roadster/convertible also meant I could actually do things with it instead of it being a toy car. I'm hesitant about getting a sports car used, the items of concern would be owner abuse and badly done mods.
Assuming I was put in a position of no new Toyobaru, I'd probably think hard about a WRX...the only minus is its a sedan rather than a hatch, I consider sedans one of the least useful body style. If Subaru actually makes a hatch, this is a very easy choice. Not too many cars actually please me despite me having a job where I drive several models and makes. As a result my criteria is very narrow with no FWD and manual transmission only. I will say I've been intrigued by stuff like a Subaru Legacy GT wagon. Worst case scenario I return to the Toyota Cressida world, I still miss my 1986 greatly and would've love to have it complement my Toyobaru and actually do the manual conversion. |

I'm waiting to see the new ATS-V, maybe a muscle car. I need a little more luxury and a little more trunk.

'Nuther Toyobaru. It has been tough as nails thus far *knocks on wood* and I'm nowhere near done having fun with it after 1.5 years of ownership. It's great for the motorsports that I'm involved in and easy to work on (which plays a HUGE part in this decision for me).

Well, currently under the terms of my lease, if my car is totaled (I'm assuming it can't be my fault, but I'm not actually sure about that) I get a brand new one, same terms and everything, presumably no extra cost.
But, if I absolutely had to replace it, I'm not sure what I would get, though I pay more attention to cars now than I ever did before so here's a couple of potential choices. The new Miata (or maybe some beater to wait out/hope/pray they make a coupe, especially if it's a fastback) Mini Cooper Coupe (I thought this was ugly when I first saw it, but the more I see it the more curious I get. Something seems right about a two seat Mini.) If neither of those, then probably a Mazda6 or Mazda3, because I told myself I would eventually own another Mazda product.

There is not a single NEW car I would own under $30k than the FRS. I think if I totaled mine I would want to switch to the BRZ. Idk why. I like the look of the FRS better but I think it would be a fun switch.

lol
Guess I'm the only one who's looking at cars older than 10 years as replacements.
