I have the N1's and i DD my car. Alone its really nice, good tone and a little bit of rasp. If you go full OP/FP WITH headers then your gonna be waking up more than just 2 car alarms. Now though with the turbo it actually sounds really good.
Here is a vid when i was still NA. [ame]http://youtu.be/kZy0KKAkBZs[/ame] |

Not much drone for me, I love the sound and get compliments all the time. You can always put the silencers on if you don't like it. I drive this car every day and love the exhaust just as much as when I got it 8000 miles ago

Is this exhaust noisy enough to wake the neighbors up? I live in a really uptight area and I don't want then fining me for a loud exhaust does it stay relatively quiet in low rpm range?

At low RPMs you should be fine, I've lived in two different suburbs over the last year and have never gotten any complaints (in fact I've gotten compliments on the car / exhaust). I can't speak for modifications past the exhaust however, you may run into some noise issues if you decide to get a header, FP, and OP down the road.

I dd my brz with an n1 and I've never had anybody complain. Might just be my neighborhood but people still wave and say hi when I pass by. It is on the louder side but nowhere close to annoying

You might want to consider the new Greddy Supreme SP as well. It's become a new top contender for me, pending some audio clips and reviews. Titan Motorsports is actually having a pretty good group buy discount on them right now.

As a reference to the noise level. I park my car out front of my house. It is probably 30-40 feet from my bedroom. In the morning my fiance can hear the car start up and leave pretty easily but she loves the sound. The sound level is going to be compatible to any good quality exhaust you see on a tuner car with large diameter tips. Is there anybody in your local area that would be willing to show you their system? Maybe a caffeine and octane type of event if you have them in your area.

I love my N1 all the time, except when you're doing 80mph down the highway then it becomes drone city. I've never put the silencers in.
Turn the stereo up louder. |

FWIW, I have an Invidia N1 cat-back, catless UEL, and overpipe.
It has a nice low rumble, and can be very tame if you take it easy (low rev's). On the other hand, if you hammer it in the high rev's it's fairly loud. When I had only the cat-back, I would honestly consider it quiet. |
