This game is fun but damn I really hate grinding.

Anyone do the Queen's wrath stuff yet? Seems like you do a bounty, trade it in, get a random story mission, complete that and get a legendary helmet or chest.

Seems like a really easy way to grab a few legendaries, hell in theory you could grind out 6 per day which would be a good source of ascendant stuff.

I agree. I've tried multiple shotguns and so far haven't been a big fan. One of the biggest reasons is that the scope comes in handy for when I'm reaching a new area of the map I can scope around to see what is in the area before I go charging into it. It also helps to pick off a couple of the bad guys so that way there's less to grapple with once I do charge in. Comes in really handy when you are playing solo.

Yeah the grinding can get old in any game, but I think the quickest path to success in Destiny is to play missions/strikes/scouting/PvP, get vanguard marks, crucible marks, faction marks, whatever, and then buy a legendary set from a vendor. Then you'll be able to hit endgame stuff where the most fun apparently is. Now I really want to do a Raid but I'm still stuck at L24.

Oh yeah hit level 26 last night! Managed to score a purple helmet off my first queen's wrath mission and also got my Vanguard rank up to 2 and bought some purple boots I've been eyeing for a while.

Now I just have to level them up... anyone got any spare ascendant shards?

Wasn't much to it really, aside from the purple helmets and chest pieces you get from her missions the rest of the stuff she sells is rather unspectacular. Unless you like pink guns.

I did 2 bounties and 1 mission and got the helmet I wanted, not sure i'm going to bother with the rest.

If this has already been discussed, I shall delete my post, but there is an easy way to get multiple bonuses from the Queen's Wrath. First, get a group of three people. If you don't have 2 other friends, I can't help you there. Once you have three people, only one person should complete his/her queens bounties. I advise you go first. I also recommend the queens bounties that are vanguard relatedbecause they are quickest. Once you have 4-5 complete, start doing the missions with the other people in your party. Only the person who has completed the bounties will get the rewards at the end (sucks to be the other people). After you've finished all the missions, let another one of your teammates go complete his/her bounties. Once this person completes the bounties, you make them the fireteam leader and they will be able to take you to 4 queens missions (these would have been locked for you since you completed your bounties). You will now notice at the end of every mission, both you and your teammate, are getting drops. The only person who isn't getting the drops is the third person. Finally, follow this same process with the third person. At any rate, good luck finding people who are willing to go second or third, but if you are able to go first, you can easily obtain 12 legendary drops in a few hours.
EDIT: Thanks to I_Love_Polar_Bears for this new item. This strategy can potentially be done even more efficiently. The way the queens wrath works is as long as you have a bounty complete, you will receive a drop every single time regardless if you have any missions left. For instance, you only need to complete one bounty and then could join 20 different people as they complete their missions to get a drop every single time. You are limited to the amount of missions you can launch based on the bounties you've completed. The updated strategy is to have each person in your fire team complete one bounty. After this is complete, knock out the mission to reap the reward. Then follow the above process for completing bounties. You can complete all your bounties in advance, just don't submit them until it's your turn. Instead of only the first person enjoying the rewards, every single person on the fireteam will benefit from the rewards! This leaves potential for anywhere from 12-15 drops per person on a 3 person team.


Although you will have duplicate legendary items from the Queen's set, this also means you can just dismantle them either to complete exotic bounties or for rare materials to further level your current gear. Don't be so quick to shrug off this opportunity this update has provided because it may potentially save you hours of grinding in the near future.

Same here. Can't remember which bounty I have, It's the one where you need to do a weekly heroic mission/strike, and then do any normal planetary strike(s) 25 times. Can't remember what's after that.

I will have enough vanguard marks and strange coins to buy some legendary and exotic gear this weekend. Gonna wait to see what Xur has for sale first before I buy anything. Finally get some purples and a yellow.

PVP part is the easiest part. This is what you do....

Get your fireteam. Join rumble. Find a corner. Get your PVP shit done.

Look, there are a lot of PvP elitests in this game (FPS players who are worried about KD ratios. So they join fights like capture and camp. If you notice, the majority of players that brag about KD ratios play capture. But have like 30 captures in the amount of games played.)

Its just a game, and no one person is better than any other person in PvP. This is where PvP elitests would like to disagree. BUT there is a reason why 90% of people on the top of the PvP leader boards are hunters and use Shotguns/fusion rifles. This game is not balanced for PvP.

The "Level advantages" are still there. What they did do was to make armor and weapons have the same BASE damage. All attachments and damage bonuses from weapons are still active.

So a lvl 6 rifle with no upgrades does, in fact, do the same amount of damage that a lvl 20 exotic does with no upgrades. BUT a lvl 20 exotic rifle that is fully upgraded, does MUCH more damage than a lvl 6 uncommon rifle fully upgraded.

Man. Can't wait for the iron banner.
