They were all made in the States! They were going to "SAVE AMC".
In reality they actually influenced car design right up into the Chrysler/Eagle days.

Mine had something in common with the Flintstones in that, after only 4 years there was no floor left!

Was very broke, married with little kids and remember more then once:

"HEY YOU KIDS KEEP YOUR FEET UP BACK THERE"
"Don't worry about the exhaust smell dear we will just keep the windows open"
And my very favorite - "Daddy the carpet just fell out"!

Yes the 2nd gear will drive me insane most likely as I have had this problem before with a DC5R (Integra Type R) It drove me crazy every morning on the way to work, by the time I got to work it would be ready to go in smoothly and it wrecked the whole driving experience for me.

If your saying that turbo will have heating issues than for sure this car isn't for me. because the power I know ill get bored of easily.

Mmmm maybe 92 Model NSX? Light weight rear wheel drive, just so hard to find one.

My only addition is that the overheating issue has mostly to do with running it hard and long, a 20 minute track session with a lot of boost will put you in danger territory, not running down the freeway at 90 mph or trying to drag race a ute.

The bottom line is that to modify this car into Corvette and Porsche territory is almost as expensive as buying a Porsche or Corvette, but based on what you've stated above and your previous experience with an Integra I don't think this car is for you. If you loved your Integra and craved something similar then this is a good fit, but it sounds like you want something very different from what this car offers.

And no, we don't have Renault in the US. Renault had abysmal sales here and fled. They seem to have turned things around elsewhere, but all Americans remember is this:

Actually, this American once owned a special import Renault, an R5 Turbo that either went off tune or overheated on almost every drive. When it ran properly, it's mid-engine rear drive setup was a match for almost anything available in the early '90's on a twisty mountain road but was so unreliable that I sold it quickly. I heard soon afterward something about an engine fire that didn't surprise me.
