Not my opinion guys, but I do respect this guys input as I've folowed his videos and mods for quite some time. This is part 2 of 2 in a comparison between FRS and S2000. I find his comments on the 86 platform from 11:13 on interesting and suprising. Not that he chooses the S2000 in the end, but his thoughts on FI for 86 platform

I told you it would cost quite a bit over a year ago. FI is not cheap, in anyway.

They would probably all agree the s2000 is better, but a mint used s2000 is the same price as a used FRS...sooo that is an issue there (10+ year difference + mileage) I also cannot fit in a S2000 lol.

Yeah, I believe he is thinking about when you add everything up
Kit (lets say $5,000) Most don't come with a real or reliable BOV, so you get one ($250?) Oh you need a tune (ecu tech + cable is what, $450? tune is $350 or more) better get that new MAP sensor ($100 or so) I paid for this turbo and got it tuned right, better get a clutch that will last ($400++++++) So there you are at around $6600 and you realize you bought it all from the states! oh snap! add a couple hundred in shipping, then times that by exchange and don't forget taxes and duty! ok, now you are around $8,000! Install, 12 hours, $120 or so an hour ($1,440 + taxes) and now you are around $9,500 and you may want another tune, you may want some stuff custom painted to look pretty, may need a catch can (not really but EVERYONE buys one) and then you get a new filter if your kit doesn't have one and you are at 9 grand. I just made up everything, but it is certainly realistic. This does not even touch on those who get multiple tunes, upgraded their injectors or fuel pumps, etc. Plus you will need new oil, new transmission fluid and gosh knows what else.... Of of course...better tires, probably wider rims too so you can increase your contact patch so you do not spin out every time you boost through a turn (THAT IS SUPER FUN! I am not lying to you, super awesome..just it will kill you) However, you can probably source a Vortech Super Charger from JRP out of Ontario, install it yourself and have more power for around 5,500 all in maybe.... so there is always that.

Side not I hit a skunk in my frs last night. No damage to car thank god but fuck me does it smell any tips on what to do I washed it really good witch helped a lot and threw a air freashioner in it but the smell still there |
