I tried going back, but couldn't get the older version to install. I didn't have much time to mess with it, so it could have been a user error on my side. Hope not though...

Installed fine surprisingly. Got it rooted and ready for my girlfriend to watch Walking Dead on the way to Halloween horror nights tomorrow!

So wait, does this mean you essentially have the new version with volume memory and larger partition size but with root? Or just the old firmware with root?

So I just downloaded the compressed file off of the website for the September update. I've tried it twice, and everytime I try to extract it, I get an error.

Try the download again and check the file size. I've had issues with their downloads interrupting and not downloading the entire file in the past. One update took me over 10 tries to get the whole file to finish downloading.

I'm nearly ready to pull the trigger to place the order.

I have read most of the thread but haven't found much about installation. Is there any installation guide for this unit available?

Ca-Fi Dashlinq4 Android 4.1.1 Car Stereo - WHOA BABY!

IPhone 6 doesn't work for me like the iPhone 5. Drops out on screen after a call is initiated or received. Something has changed. Anyone else tried?

Old firmware with root and larger app partition. I did update MCU while trying out new ROM. I think that part stayed.

Newest update rooted (Offical 9-12-2014), with some goodies.
Enjoy.

Rooted Dashlinq4 rom (9-20-2014)

If you dont know what to do with XHIFI, try this as a base:
Hi Clarity: 60
Lo Contour: 30

Seems to work well on most devices I've tried it on, let me know how it sounds for you.

This isn't the no carhome version though is it? I have access to the new version if that helps you make it?

Awesome job!
Only thing I can't figure out is why Xposed isn't installing properly, even though Superuser has given it root.

No, it has CarHome, but you can use TitaniumBackup to freeze it. I now have mine running Google Now Launcher.

I like the carhome version. Allows it to wake properly. Hmmm

I'm on the previous no carhome version (rooted), it wakes perfectly fine. Did not freeze anything.
