Since Terry had it open, I went up there a couple of times in the winter of 2010-2011 to do car control work. Ice, snow, wet, and dry - it had it all. With the flatness of the track and the no-barrier runoff (except at pit-out), it's a great track to play on. Though you do have to watch that you don't slide across and hit someone on another part of the track if you go four-off.

Yeah, overall it is a very safe track. Not the most challenging circuit since it's flat and most of the corners are slow-ish and about the same speed, but it's less than a half hour from my house so I use it for testing quite a lot.

I've been there in the winter a few times myself. Good fun!

Funny thing is I really wasn't expecting much or really pushing hard due to the straight speeds being 6 mph lower than when I was there in Feb. Major alignment changes made the car much more stable and as always smoother is usually faster.

I just clocked a 1:24.8 today, but that was on street tires. Nice driving!

Hot laps with this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park with Chin running a 50% ethanol cocktail and lots of timing advance with a flex-fuel tune to help me get the car to turn a 1:52.3 towards the end of the session. Early on a silver Cayman S gave me a couple point by's and then floored it as an insult to my poor Slowbaru's lack of torque.

The car has a 1:49 in it easily if I can break my bad habit of taking second gear in a couple places where it's not necessary and stop over braking the car sometimes in addition to my conservative driving line through certain corners.
