Infiniti Emerg-E concept was based on the Lotus Evora - report

Production looks increasingly likely

When Infiniti introduced the Emerg-E concept at the Geneva Motor Show, they weren't shy about admitting the fact that the car featured a Lotus-derived powertrain. Now, a report is indicating the companies worked closer together than originally thought.
According to Car and Driver, the Emerg-E rides on the same platform that underpins the Lotus Evora. This enabled Infiniti to access funding from Great Britain's Technology Strategy Board which helped to lower the concept's development cost.
More importantly, since most of the components are already in production, Infiniti could build the Emerg-E with relative ease. Company executives have already hinted at this possibility, but it's beginning to look increasingly likely as the company will reportedly create a couple of prototypes for testing purposes.

I think Lotus will stop using Toyota's engine (at least for the highperformance models), but the build them in house. Next Esprit is likely to have Lotus V8 engine instead of Toyota V8.

Remember this badass from years ago?
This is what Infiniti's design language is based off.
