I had a chance to test the front splitter and @Wonderbar Driveway Labs T1 diffuser yesterday, woot!

ambient temps were about 92 F+ degrees (a more robust oil cooler is a must at this point) and I had to deal with the traffic all day.. I should be able to cut another 4-5 seconds with the current setup easily..
Important things to note, car feels a bit more planted after combining the Hancha/FT86SF front splitter with the Driveway Labs T1 rear diffuser (especially at high speed corners/sweepers) ..braking down feels a bit more improved as well ..either that or it's a placebo effect

Question Camaro Z28 Wickerbill

I have a question to you aero guys @Wonderbar @eric6 @plucas

Is there a way to make an extension (made of aluminum) that is adjustable and can be attached to the OEM BRZ spoiler or TRD ? Like this one, I figured this would be a great upgrade for those who don't want to swap trunks or remove rear spoiler..it looks like it only uses rivet nuts on the spoiler itself (considerably cheaper to replace compared to a trunk in case a person wants to go back completely stock)

http://www.moderncamaro.com/forum/ca...stall-z28.html

if so please make this happen and put me on the top of the list I heard that adding a functional spoiler not only add the downforce but also help getting rid of the lift in the rear ..

I know it's a completely different car but between the front splitter, hood and wickerbill GM was able to add 440lbs downforce with Z28 aero package !!

Its 4 bolts, an easy harness and a license plate to swap a trunk.

Really doesn't take me much time at all.

Just give in and get a trunk from one of the 9000 wrecked ones on ebay and throw a huge wing on it.

I know swapping trunks shouldn't take too long but I have a few issues with getting another trunk and big wing approach:
  • - Cost: I cannot find any used OEM trunk that costs less than $400 and there is only one trunk for sale as of now.. also the cost of the expensive wings $1500-1600 , they all add up .. and if I could only gain 3-4 tenths of a second with that kind of investment, I don't know
  • - Also the drag penalties of the big wings: on the APR's website it clearly states that the design of the car (coupe, hatchback, sedan) has a lot to do with the height and width of the wing size as well as the power and the size of the car.. I am pretty sure you can gain a lot of grip in high speed turns but not sure about the rest of the track

true,

on my end i had a plain trunk and wanted a spoiler anyway, so the hit there wasn't as bad,

the wing was a punch in the **** though

The average Camaro owner adds 440 lbs of downforce just by sitting in the car.

Gain a lot of grip in high-speed turns = gain more than 3-4 tenths per lap. Unless there aren't any high-speed turns. When you're going to full-throttle a hundred feet or more earlier than you were previously, you start lowering your lap times in a serious way.

You might be surprised at what downforce appropriate for your car will do for you in slow-speed corners, too. My experience is that the numbers that come with a wing don't always tell the full story when it comes to the difference they make when you're on the track wheeling the car around.

There are a lot of factors at play, though, and adding effective aero to a car is a process, even if you're installing a proven package from a known reliable source.

One potential problem with the OEM BRZ spoiler is the decorative risers on each side. The add-on spoiler would either be only for the middle or it would need cutouts for the risers.

You're basically looking for a taller, sturdier version of the STi gurney flap?

This is the exact reason I was designing a wing that mounts to the rear tow mounts. The lack of interest and personal funds has directed me to other projects.

Yes I think the middle section would be enough too like the taller version of the gurney flap like you mentioned or it could be just like the one for the Z28 .. I'm not sure which one would be better though
