Forget the kids, it's the bikes!
They arent exactly competing with each other.Compare cayman s track times with the exige( or any car 100k+)....and then compare the interiors...and then research how much more costly it is to own the Lotus. You'll start to realize why the Cayman is one of the best drivers cars ever made. And then buy yourself a roof rack

So back to the original question, both have front struts with similar camber gains and caster settings the rear is where they differ as well as the weight. At VIR we were able to stay with a Cayman through the ss but of course waved good by on the exit so hp/torque makes anything look good. We need to add 150 hp and 500 lbs to the rear

I believe you mean GTD and it's a RS America.

Not that it matters because the Turner Z4 is kicking Porsche, Ferrari and Audi ass without even stopping to take names.

Small, mid-engined, 2 seater & around £45-55k... Oh yes they are in my book.

Lets be clear I'm looking for a car that's a riot on back road. Lap times tell you absolutely nothing about that!

Similar spec, spartan and rather uninteresting

When I got my Elise I could have bought a Boxster or Cayman but one of the big attractions of the 111R was the low running costs.

In my opinion the Cayman is good, not great, a drivers car.

They change the names so much all I see is the electronics and the bottom of the car, he drives in the IMSA GT3 cup challenge in the Platinum class and his cars run in several other classes. It's all about politics in racing these days not much fun to be penalized for over aggressive driving randomly. Anyway working with these cars is still a work of art. This is still the coolest Porsche dyno test [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfuleS9rnzc"]2009 Porsche 911 Engine Running Simulated Nurburgring on Active Dynamometer - YouTube[/ame]

Wonder what IMSA has in the works to deal with that, if anything - should know this weekend.

There's nothing to deal with, the superior car, drivers and team is winning.

Turner followed one of the oldest rules of motorsport: "If you want to win, employ a Finn."

EDIT: #94 received +25Kg's while Porsche received -10Kg, more splitter and can now employ dive planes.. fucking bullshit.

I do do see the IMSA Porsche GT3 cup.

What's the team name?

And there are only two IMSA TUDOR United classes running 911's, GTD which is running custom for the class 911 RS America's (basically a cheat car, since every other car in the field are dumbed down FIA GT3 Machines while Porsche campaigned IMSA to let them run a custom built "one off") and the GTL class which are Le Mans style GT racers with full kit.

What's great is seeing BMW 2nd in the manufacture standing in GTD, 3 points behind Ferrari and 1 point over Porsche.

it's great because there are several Ferrari and Porsche teams, but only one BMW team

Lol, a wannabe? Wannabe at what? 9/10 people familiar with sports cars will tell you it's one of the best all around sports cars you can buy, money no object.

And if you need to transport 2 bikes you can get a roof rack.

It's simple just like I learned in IMSA Super Car years ago if you want to win you spend money with the sanctioning body they love that so you get to win until another team spends more money. Remember racers are just clowns in the parade. Cup team is TPC Racing

For me it'll always be a wannabe because the basic reality is not actually that fun to drive on back roads. It can be the best handling sports car ever but it'd still be one for me because it just doesn't deliver the giggle factor at sensible speeds.

Bikes on a rack roof are bikes that end up stolen at service stations &/or you end up with ££££s of damage to your car because someone tried to get the bikes off while you were having lunch etc.

^^ Don't take this the wrong way, but you sound like the kind of guy that would enjoy the entry level Caterham more than the 620R. A lot more tossable at sane speeds, but still good driver involvement.

Yeah but I think my ideal is the Roadsport 125 as I've slowly been getting fed up with turbo charged cars, for me they dull everything down. I kind of derailed my 111R by bolting a turbo on, my next move would have been a side-step move to supercharging.

I have driven my dad's R400, seems about a good amount of power, anymore and you kill tires, and less and you feel like you would want more.

IMO.
