Weird.

Mine was hanging up in the same spot as yours. I wiped the card and put the Upload folder on the card by itself. It worked fine after that.

From the amount of crashes and glitches, it seems like they're shipping a product that was like 80% complete.

After updating, the iPod app will not run at all. It opens and crashes within a few seconds. Maybe it somehow found out I was talking shit about it on the internet lol

I struggled with my update too, I had to format the SD Card and put the update folder on there again. The first time I tried it, it just sat on the Ca-Fi screen and flashed. After about 10 minutes, I finally hit the reset button and pulled the SD Card. It rebooted, but came up to a black screen with a crosshair in the upper left corner. That is when I went in and formatted the card and tried again. This time, it went through the normal procedure where it shows the text checking partitions and such.

That was pretty much my same experience.

Have problems playing video on the head unit, hopefully someone can help me out.

When i play a video from my SD card there is audio but no display. For the display to come on i have to turn the car engine off and back on. By doing this the video i've selected plays (with audio and display) but when i go back to select another video it fails again thus needing me to again restart the engine.

I'm not sure if its a problem with the app im using (MX player), my SD card, the head unit or the wiring of my head unit.

I've been thinking it has something to do with the app as its always asking me to update it, but i accidentally hit the 'do not ask again message' so never got around to updating it since it never reminded me again. But then again, if restarting the engine fixes the problem i have a feeling its got something to do with the wiring..

Hoping someone who has experienced this problem can point me in the right direction. Cheers.

I had no trouble with MX Player before. Haven't tried it since flashing the new update.

Try a different player, like VLC or Mobo.

Think that setting only applies to stock app

I haven't tried it yet because I'm worried that it's still not rootable, so if someone else wants to give it a shot and try rooting please report back, I'm also going to ask will if he can send me a version with root access enabled already.

Actually, this isn't telling the whole truth. It's not like you can't use Aux to play music from your iPhone on this head unit (you're heavily implying here that Apple somehow prevents you from doing this), it's just much less convenient, because Aux doesn't transfer controls to the head unit, nor does it charge your phone. Secondly, Ca-Fi made the decision to put the antiquated 30 pin dock connector on this unit, and that is their bad. I understand not putting a lightning connector (they'd have to pay Apple a licensing fee), but they could've just accepted input from an Apple lightning cable via USB like every other car stereo does. That's not Apple's fault, since the end opposite the phone of an Android charger and an Apple charger are both the same USB end. You're criticizing the convenience of Apple's iPod (yes, proprietary) standard, which you don't have to use. There are two other ways to play music from your Apple phone on this head unit. Pick one. Ca-Fi's implementation of the (once again, yes, proprietary) iPod standard is just incredibly poor.

I just don't understand why people are even worrying about putting an iPod in your car when you can just buy a 256GB flash drive for ~$70 or shit a 1TB slim HDD and use a much better on screen player, I just don't get it...
