I've been in the market for a exhaust for a while now but I've been hesitant about noise level. I'm leaning towards the greddy but I don't want a extremely loud exhaust like some rice rockets ( no offense to anybody) I want one that won't wake up the neighborhood in the morning. So I was wondering if this exhaust would be right for me. any response would be very helpful! Thanks

With the silencers, it's fine. However it's too quiet and I wonder what's the point of having a exhaust that's too quiet with ugly silencers that restrict airflow. Without silencers, it sounds amazing. it's loud and it drones. Even louder and even more drone when you change headers and pipes, but it sounds epic and extremely loud. I had it with JDL uel headers, nameless downpipe with a drone resonator. With that setup, if I ever turned my car on while it was parked in my garage, my house used to shake.

For me the drone was just unbearable. I used to get headaches, couldn't enjoy music in the car, wasn't able to hear my passengers, quite frankly I didn't even enjoy driving the frs. So I ended up trading it for another exhaust. Even tho it doesn't sound as good as the Evo, I'm finally able to enjoy my car, hear passengers, hear the engine and music.

Sorry for the bitter review. I don't know why this exhaust wasn't designed with drone resonators.

Thanks! This helps a lot, I'm not sure if you know or not but I was wondering if this exhaust sounds anything like a wrx sti? Would you say it's a bit louder than a wrx or a lot louder thanks again.

With the videos on YouTube the Borland uel header and evo 3 sound like an STI

Pair it with an unequal length header and it will. That's where the Subie rumble comes from.

Ok cool! Do you think with the headers it will be louder than a normal sti? I don't mind the noise level being a bit on the loud side but I don't want neighbors complaining either thanks

If you're comparing the stock STi to this setup, yes it is wayyyyy louder. Theirs no comparison in the noise level lol. But the sound is very similar with the uel headers.

Two of my buddies own modded STi. My car with that setup was louder than both of theirs. One has a tomei EL header, downpipe with invidia q300. The other owns a downpipe and q300

Btw if U watch the videos on you tube for the Evo, they don't tell you exactly how horrible the drone is. Here's a video of mine for the fun of it. It won't give u an idea of how much the drone is nor how loud it is, but rather what it would sound like. You will need to hear it with bass enabled speakers to get an idea of what it sounds like, on your phone or speakers without bass it's gonna sound farty.

Evo 3 without silencers will be a lot louder than the STI in stock form. I had one of the first few Evo3's a couple of years ago and after dealing with highway drone (not bad on auto but gearing on the MT put the drone right at cruise speed) and the ridiculously obnoxious cold start volume, I had to trade it in for something tamer. I miss the raw rambunctious roar of the Evo3, but the drone was making me physically ill and I didn't want my neighbors to burn my house down during those early morning winter starts when I leave for work earlier than a lot of the neighborhood woke up.

Ok thanks after hearing these things I think I need to reconsider for something a little more tame but still have that deep Subaru sound can you guys point me in the right direction? Or give me some recommendations of other exhausts thanks!

I ended up going for the ark dts.
Here's a short rev clip of my current setup

*for actual representation of this setup, listen with bass enabled speakers

If I could start all over again, id have gone for Perrin resonated 3".

Trust me I miss the sound of the Evo, it was amazing, rumble at it's best but I donno what else is out there that sounds like it and doesn't give drone. I don't have much experience with some of the newer exhausts that have come out but I'm sure there is something out there.

Btw the Invidia n1 is a close second to the Evo 3, I just hated the way the tips looked and it too has drone but the drone is at the higher rpms from what I've read on forums.

i think its because your buddies cars are still runing cats? to where the frs/brz are going catless which in return makes then very loud??

Well there's one cat after the headers on FRS. I was told Turbo cars are usually quieter than NA
