I already switched over mid season. I'm just going a relative cheap STX build. Sways, wheels, Koni's , yellow/Tarmac springs, some bushings, and a good tune and camber adjustment. I don't do nationals, plus here in the buccaneer region we have a big STX crowd, locally a ton of competition. Plus it's what I do with my cars as a matter of course till I move on. To old to get into that game. To that extent anyways. But you guys are immensely entertaining and I keep my beer and snacks handy. Keep up the good work all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Locally, I'm driving my car in whatever Street class no matter the class changes. For big events, I'm not ruling out finding something else to co-drive.

I guess I should ask - the Strano bar IS designed to use the stock endlinks, right? I cut about 1.5" out of mine to use with the Whiteline bar, is that cool?

Shortening the endlinks will force the bar even higher up into the car once it is at ride height. My Strano bar (DWX's, then mine, now 7thgear's) hit the frame rails on both sides with the stock length endlink, so I finally just switched to a bar that had more clearance to eliminate the clunks.

yeah mine clunks... but I can't actually figure out where exactly, I was expecting much more damage to the rails but the paint's barely touched
nor are my control arms chipped so it's hitting something, but I don't know what! LOL

At mylocal events its Mostly SSM. I think there are 3 STX cars, 2 STU, 5 or 6 CS. A plethora of ES (Lots o hair dressers here), and a sprinkling of FS,BS,SS and Prep cars.
We get some F types, r8s, GTRs, Karts, but those are far and inbetween. I am tempted to go FI and play with our large group, but thats a lot of money.

I impact the WL nuts on and off with an electric impact and have had no issues with them loosening up and it takes about 2 seconds per nut.
I've done that probably 4 times now. Also if you move the wheels full lock one way or the other it makes things much more accessible.I do have a Gearwrench set of sockets as well which are all passthrough I used previously but lost patience with that. I've debated putting my car back to CS trim but there is one mod which would be a PITA and that's the oil pan. I've got a RacerX one on there right now. Oil pans are legal in STX as long as you don't modify the windage tray, which on our cars isn't part of the oil pan. |
