My wife and I as well as my friend have no issues with ours. Got ours about 2 months ago.
If you ask someone else though, almost everyone else has issues with theirs.

I fucking despise Samsung's version of Android and 1 minute with HTC's and I noped out of that too, I totally understand Android hate if you're experience is primarily with OEM/carrier/company enforced bloatware and all you want is for it to work intuitively.

imho based solely on personal terribly biased experience:
Cyanogenmod > vanilla Android > iOS > Nokia 3310 > HTC Sense > Samsung Touchwiz
I hated the Samsung ROM on my S4 while it was still alive, but the S4 was fast enough that the bloat wasn't really a problem, so I never put Cyanogenmod on it even though I should have from day 1.

I ordered the Wednesday after the long weekend, and it came on Tuesday, but no one was home. So a week to come.

For duties, I paid just shy of $60....but all in after conversion etc its just shy of $500. Wasn't too happy but in the end still cheaper than a 64 GB iPhone 6+, LG G3, Galaxy S5, etc.

One pro-tip: once you get your waybill number and the phone passes Canadian customs, pay for the duties up front and keep the receipt. If someone is home to sign for the package, just show them that receipt and you'll be on your way.

Being a former GS3 and GS4 user, I can vouch that their batteries are complete shit compared to the iPhones. No I don't want to walk around with a spare battery. No I don't want to walk around with a mobile charger. Also still no group messaging...seriously? (GroupMe doesn't count) Another big reason I left android. This big phone fad is getting ridiculous. Next thing you know we'll all be walking around with cell phones the size of a monitor.

you must have had a shitty GS4 than, i would get 20-28 hours of battery life with 3-4hr of screen on time, last the entire day plus some,

my HTC M8 is the first phone where i can actually push it to its limits, streaming, talking on LTE and not have to worry that im going to get stranded

at the end of the day, the war will always go on, to each there own, i personally dont really care anymore

This basically sums up how I feel about electronics in general now. When people get into ridiculously heated debates on their preference of product they become exactly what the company was aiming for: a walking advertisement and spokesman for the product. You end up doing the job for their marketing team.

For the screen size on the GS4, the battery life was actually pretty damn good IMO. I didn't ever really worry about battery life.

iMessage is admittedly pretty good. I feel a little left out since all my friends use it, but I'm not willing to make the switch over just for that. iOS just pisses me off for some reason I can't really put my finger on.
