Bombard here... it's just a plastic shield that kept falling down. We fixed it with a ziptie.

We found some Kooks to rent,....I went to the practice course after mounting the kooks and dropped a lot of time. The car was still loose on throttle. We ended up going 100lb softer rear springs and stiffened the front bar. I ended up dropping down to a 38.9 on the practice course. I felt the car was 90% good.

Once we started running on Tuesday,...the car didn't feel the same as the practice course. Plus I drove like Shit both day's.

I still had a good time, and met some new people in STX.

Simmons
I was happy with the Z2s on the west course, they felt absolutely terrible on east. I was 1.5 sec behind the leaders on west, but bombed on east about 3.5 sec behind. However, I had them on track today at Roebling Road and they felt absolutely amazing. Either OPR doesn't agree with the Z2s, or they don't like concrete all that much.

Ended up pretty pleased with the results last week. Car felt get on the practice course from the tested I had done a month prior and didn't change a single thing on the car all week. Day one I was 0.9 from first and drove poorly on day two and was off the pace. Still managed to gain a spot to 14th. Goal was top 10 but for my first Nationals I will take it. Already have my prep list for next year. Also thought it was pretty great that the car was labeled the best sounding car in the class, people kept coming up to me as asking what exhaust it was. May not have been the fastest but it sure sounded the meanest!

You can't win on day 1...but you can definitely lose! I had two trophy-position runs I coned away on West and couldn't close enough of the gap on East.

First time at nats, on OEM shocks, on the "wrong" tire in the "wrong" size...so maybe I didn't do so bad.

Absolutely. Simmons and I coned away 14th and 15th on day 1. I think part of the issue was that we were making significant changes to the car up until the day of. Between the pro and day 1 we changed the front bar, rear spring, and tires. I was a bit disappointed with 24th/28th.

Also, for those who saw the BFG Racing trailer that wasn't exactly doing tire support: they are there to test a new Rivals compound on the Lincoln concrete.

Its nice to see that they are directly addressing such a specific need!
Impressive!

Many thanks to racinric95 for the pictures - the only ones I have found of my car!

Our car was great - we never tweaked a knob the whole time. Mike and I were a little rusty, having not raced that much this year, so we were pretty pleased both landing in the top 10.

For those of you who listened in on Thur/Fri, I was announcing Heat 3 West/East, so I hope you enjoyed. I was told I sounded like the BBC!

That was you?! One of my friends commented to me during that group....

"Holy s#$@... we sound like a real motorsport now that we've got a proper British announcer!"

And I'm not going back to dig out my old post just so I can admit I was wrong, but the East Course turned out to be a LOT less wide open than I thought. It required a lot of thought to get right since the entries/exits were so open. West course corralled you to one line and you just had to drive it as hard as you could. East Course made you pick your line and think about it. Both were a ton of fun

Haha nice, we had a local guy one time we said the same thing about, although half his jokes were obscure British humor...

David Hobbs spoke at our SCCA year end banquets one time in Milwaukee, for whatever reason he owns a car dealership and lives there, thought it would be great to have him announce an autocross. But then again it's one of those things where it likely wouldn't be as good as you had hoped.

My fastest run from Day 2 in the West Lot. I don't want to talk about Day 1.
