Just one last table needs to be calibrated and then some timing is going to be added to see how far we can push on 95.

Stay "tuned" guys, its almost done!
I think you need to market it well, and have a launch tune event

Maybe offer a discounted first tune to the guys in SA

Agreed.

So tell us more about how it works please - would we be able to load the stock tune before a service via Tactrix cable and Romraider for example?

Good suggestions gents.

Sorry for the delay in updates.

This weekend we have made some awesome progress. SUPER smooth all the way down from 2k RPM to red-line, and once again not a single bit of detonation on pure 95 pump.

We are getting close guys, just some fine tuning that needs to be done.

Sav, lets say you decided to go for a tune. It would simply be a case of bringing your car to either Marco or myself, we would then plug a cable into the car, and copy your cars stock ROM/tune/mapping off of your ECU for safe keeping and we would then "flash" the updated tune that we have been working on and you would be on your way. The whole process would probably take about an hour, depending on each car. Although the actual flash takes about 15 min, we like to "stress test" the car and check/listen for any knock - a "happy" engine is the number one priority.

You do not need to purchase any additional hardware.

This is the first of a few maps by the way. The following maps will be developed:
1. 95 Pump - STOCK
2. E50 - STOCK
3. 95 Pump - Intake/filter + full exhaust
4. E50 Pump - Intake/filter + full exhuast

Sounds awesome

Thanks for the update, it doesn't answer my question though.

I'd like to ask how E50 compares to E85? And I don't know if it was a typo but E50 pump? Where is this available? I realize these may be stupid questions but I'm here to learn

Yep, it will have LC set to 4000RPM by default but can be modified to suit your needs.

Ah, sorry man.
The Phoenix Performance maps can only be flashed by us.

Sorry yes, it was a typo. I meant simply mixed E50 as Razzle said.

Number one, E50 is "easier" on the stock fuel pump and injectors. E85 really makes them "work" hard. Results close to E85 can be achieved with E50. The reason the E85 maps are so popular on these forums is because some countries get it from the pumps. We here in SA on the other hand need to mix E95 with 95RON to get E85 anyways so E50 makes things nice and easy.
Simply chuck in 25L of E95 and fill the rest up with petrol!

To put it in perspective, I got 165fkw on ethanol on a stock car, on a "conservative" ethanol map ("happy" Top End dyno though).

The stock map on your car is meant for 98RON fuel so unless you are running octane booster with every single tank, your car is pulling timing due to "det". This is bad for your engine components (pistons, bearings, injectors etc) and will not only effect fuel consumption but performance too.
Running a map that was specifically tuned for SA 95 octane fuel will ensure the car is running safer but also at its optimum on our fuel.

The base map is just the start...there are revisions of the map for most bolt on modifications, which means you will be extracting the most out of any exhaust, header, intake you buy and use on your car.

Incidentally, if you're talking about E50 as a 50/50 mix of petrol and E100, that's not exactly accurate - you'll be closer to E40 or thereabouts. I'll be able to confirm once I have my flex fuel sensor hooked up on the STI.

Thanks Td-d.

To be exact, it would be a case of running the tank to empty, putting 25L of E95 in and then topping up until the automatic stop. That's what it will be tuned for.
