I completely removed mine for tinting and then eventually put it back together to not have it lying apart but top piece is not sitting flush with pedestal. Anyone have this problem? I'll see if i can get a pic

I'm working on a low profile carbon shroud for an 18" LED strip to sit on top of the window. I'll post up some pics later when I can transfer them from my camera.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing and thought it was a listing error but it's listed on a few sites as the same thing. I'm thinking maybe it's the 4th brake light as pictures on the first page but they just put the wrong picture ?

I installed this third brake light made for Mustangs (made by Classic Design Concepts):

It works really well IMO. Made this thread here:

FYI what I'm making is essentially the same thing, with a carbon fiber shroud and higher quality LED (from www.superbrightleds.com). I may be able to make more and produce kits.

I was thinking about buying a long LED strip from Superbright and just tucking it up under the headliner. I think I'd like the look of it stretching all the way across.

@diodedynamics have there been any vendors looking into this? I would be interested if someone put a plug and play solution together

I think if it's not sealed against the window it will probably have a nasty reflection... Just my two cents.

The top of the housing unclips/separates from the forward most edge, and then the top part of the shell sort of slides forward and up to come off. It looks like one of the slide clips on that side didn't catch when it was put back together. I have my OEM 3rd brake light out if you want me to take a pic.

^^^ Agreed. Just yank the top part towards the front of the car, and put it back in, making sure to line the clips up just right.
