It looks like everyone went with Hankooks this year in STX. Last year was a mixed bag between Hankook and Dunlop. Are these the newer compound Hankooks and are they better on concrete than the previous compound? Are they worth a look? (I am on Dunlops but race up north where a 90 degree day infrequent and is considered hot and race on asphalt. No concrete courses around).

Well they paid a huge contingency for 1-3 on each class.. so money talks..

Hankook Tire will be offering cash awards to drivers using certain tire models in an eligible class. A National Championship is worth $1,200. The remaining podium positions are worth $800 and $500, respectively.

Anything for an advantage, but I find it funny how far things have come. We used to scrape OPR off of sticky Hoosiers, now we have reduced ourselves to scraping it off of STREET tires! I guess it also shows how good and grippy the new street tires really are. And changing street tires between runs, once again working around the simplicity of race what you drove in on! HA!

Nice job! That is a real accomplishment among 67 fast drivers! Crazy to get fast time one day and not even be on the podium. You will get an award though? I think through top 17 were getting awards.

I showed up with Z2 for Nats,......I was not happy with them out there in the pro.

We found some Kooks to rent,....I went to the practice course after mounting the kooks and dropped a lot of time. The car was still loose on throttle. We ended up going 100lb softer rear springs and stiffened the front bar. I ended up dropping down to a 38.9 on the practice course. I felt the car was 90% good.

Once we started running on Tuesday,...the car didn't feel the same as the practice course. Plus I drove like Shit both day's.

I still had a good time, and met some new people in STX.

Didn't make it to Nats this year but I did notice as well that all the top people were on the RS3's. I also am looking forward to going with the new Star Specs next season.
