Forced Induction Idle - Flash and Go
Hi Everyone,
I really apologize for not being on here as much as I should be and I have been wayyyyy behind on emails but I do read through them to see a common theme with certain issues. So the emails even though I may not respond I do read through, so thank you for your persistence and patience. As for the idle when placing the car in neutral, and clutch to the floor, causes the RPM's to rise. Basically I have been playing around with keeping the idle a steady under certain conditions, where the lights are on, A/C on and it is really hot out. Basically when there is a lot of load on the engine, so keep things from wanting to come to a complete stop. This is something I have worked on quite a bit with the Flash and Go map, but seems that some of the kits have issues (namely AVO). The difference in the kits is hard to pin point exactly why this happens. It is something on the todo list but can not get to at the moment to be honest. Is this a large concern for people or more of an annoyance? Let me know and we can see if we need to bump it up a bit. We will also be starting a new thread in the Forced Induction area about our Flash and Go maps very soon, as e would like to keep that thread to itself, being it is a drastically different tune from the NA and Innovate tunes and I do not want to confuse the idle control of the two. So the next post will be about the NA tune idle. Cheers, William Knose Delicious Tuning |

1. The idle is high when you first start the vehicle, say 2500 RPM and then comes down. 2. Throttle response is slow when stabbing the throttle. What version of the tune are you on? Cheers, William Knose Delicious Tuning |

ZA1JA01C-enc_Tuning_VE_91oct_V12.48D.BIN Is the file I'm running. It says 91oct but you said it's 93. This tune has 4 maps, with increasing throttle aggressiveness. Map 1 is the only map I can use. Map 2 sets the idle rpm to 1,200 and refuses to go any lower. Map 3 shoots the rpms up as if I passed out with my foot on the gas. I basically hit accept on map 3 and the engine starts revving and I have to quickly switch to map 1. Map 4, well I haven't tried it because I'm afraid it's just gonna floor it. Something funky with the throttle logic is going on. AFR's are perfect according to my wideband. I don't know which is more accurate, the stock sensor or my AEM gauge but it sits around 14.7 while cruising and drops into the low 12's when floored. The popping seemed to be related to the odd throttle response, it would pop when I let the rpms get too low and I'd try to rev match under 3,500 rpm, think slow traffic. Also I'm not NA I have the kraftwerks kit. |

The other issue is that the engine seems very reluctant to increase rpms when I blip the throttle with the clutch in. I probably wasn't sufficiently clear about when I originally asked for a more aggressive throttle. My map one throttle response, with the engine under load, is perfect. It's only the unloaded response that I'm worried about. |

It becomes a large concern when you get into a traffic jam and spend a lot of time with clutch depressed. Under normal driving conditions, it's not a problem.

That and going into areas with crosswalks. I just clutch in to stop for a sec for pedestrians and it revs and then they look at me funny/think I'm gonna run em over.

It's fine with clear roads ahead when you aren't stopping much, but in stop and go traffic, or slowly negotiating turns in a parking lot, it's just awful to deal with. Thanks for you attention. It must be a pain to find that balance. I'm currently using an old map which doesn't have that problem, but it does stumble around with the AC on so I understand what you're trying to do with the new maps. |

Bill have you had any starting issues on the stage 2 NA tune. Had Lenny call me a few times now saying the car won't start, after 5 to 6 times it starts.
This is while the car is warm or hot. Also mentioned mainly happens when he changes maps. |
