I really like it. But in no way shape or form would I trade in my FRS for it.

Yeah I agree. 220 lbs lighter, wider, lower, stiffer. That's the important part, and impressive that Mazda appears to be delivering on its promise.

The looks are the icing on the cake, although while the ND looks good, the Twins look better polished to me.

Now Mazda just needs to deliver on the driving aspect (which their track record indicates they will), and create a lightweight coupe version to compete with the Twins.

Of all the manufacturers, I think Mazda and Honda are the best positioned to put out a lightweight coupe that can compete with the FR-S/BRZ.

The problem I have with the NA and NB is that my eyes are almost dead level with the top of the windshield. Drives me nuts when I am driving. I felt much better in an NC and hopefully an ND. I am going to buy a used NC or S2K sometime in the next 12 months, but man these ND's look sweet.

I like it!!!

I think it looks kinda like the Jag F-Type (the back end anyways). Can some one post a couple pics of the Jag and the MX5 for me?

It would feel about perfect. Especially if the car has 170ft lbs or so of torque, it would feel like a rocket.

So I'm guessing/hoping 180 at least. Which is pretty damn decent in a 2200lb car. Add boost to 250 hp and you're looking at mustang gt power:weight about.
Isn't the 180hp the 2.5L?

Yes. It remains to be seen what the engine will be since there's no confirmation yet. Rumors say 1.5 or 2.0 at 130 or 160 horsepower but nothing set in stone. I may be wrong but I thought I read it would have its own engine. I've still got my hopes up for a turbo and there's always the fiat version, bit I won't be disappointed if not since the aftermarket for this car is so huge.

But only a smidge faster than 2750 lbs and 200 hp. I'm betting ND will come closer to 2300 lbs and 170 hp, maybe 175. Still, we're just talking tenths here. The #1 complaint will be the same for the ND as it has for every previous Miata, and the 86 twins.

Anyone complaining about a lack of technical information apparently has no clue how a new model reveal goes these days. Of course I want to know that info, but I knew he chances of that info coming out yesterday was slim to none.

Either way, the confirmed weight loss is the biggest news anyway. Lot easier to add power than lose weight.
