Well the beam does have to be equal or less than Panamax standards.. that's factual information not really a guess. Wiki does seem to have the draft right but all sources agree that the beam is 32M, not 34M. 32M is within Panamax standards.

34M draft would be MASSIVE. The largest supertanker in the world has a 24M draft (well had, it's since been turned into scrap) so after looking into it it seems obvious that the Wikipedia draft is very far off.

Other 199Mx32M car carriers seem to have a draft of 9.8M which matches other info posted here and is well within Panamax standards.

So they do not need to go around SA. I took Jack's world combined with Wiki and was wrong, should have read up on car carriers more

Check out the NKY Dionysos Leader. It looks like it just made a stop in Richmond Canada and is headed off to its next destination. I like the name, could this be our ship?

I'd like that option more We'll have to see if it goes to Portland or not.

Interesting, they're not for general consumption. Where are the ones that are supposed to be delivered mid-May for US consumption? Allegedly this car sells before the FR-S sale date here. That's in June...where's ours?!

They are for general consumption other than the ones on Seijin

I e-mailed my dealer and he told me that my BRZ will be coming on a ship named Dionysos Leader.
There are 3 ships he mentions
Dionysos Leader - Customer cars - left Vancouver, heading towards Tacoma, WA - ETA 4/27 1100
Seijin - Press/Dealer cars - left Yokohama, destination: US RIC (can't find anything about this) - ETA 5/8 1900
Polaris Ace - Unknown cars, probably customer cars - left Yokohama, headed for Canada (VIC.PS unknown port) - ETA 5/6 1100

The ones on Dionysys Leader are for the public. The ones on Seijin or whatever are not.

Makes sense that the first US BRZs are on the Dionsys Leader as well.

I'm not sure much/any of Motos info was accurate honestly. Wrong ship for sure, known not to be the first batch of at least FR-S and now it seems not the first batch of BRZs either.. also unlikely all are headed for Long Beach...

So are we thinking Dionysis is heading for west coast deliveries and Altair is heading for East coast? And they're both on the way right now???

Dionysos is already at the West Coast dropping off cars. This makes me think there might also be one on the East Coast, like Dave says the timing of the boats that just left Japan doesn't work for a mid-May launch. I'll drive by Quonset Point tomorrow and see if there is anything there. Also it seems like there aren't a ton of cars on these boats according to Enemies, 11 on one, 27 on the other. So it seems unlikely that they are front loading the allocations as was suggested a few times, and instead they will be trickling in like we originally thought.

Check the AWC receiving area. I believe that's who Subaru uses for the most part.. they use them in Portland IIRC, also in Richmond and in Vancouver at least...

They use NORAD in Quonset Point I think.

http://www.noradinc.com/

http://g.co/maps/uyvsx

I've never driven by it so I'm not sure what's visible from the street. Guess it's time to start building myself a UAV

hm... building a UAV to spy on NORAD... I'll probably have the FBI banging on my door pretty soon.

Apollon Leader was just in Baltimore, so it's in the area....
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shi...00&header=true

Couple of auto carriers around Richmond (sorta) but none of NYKs.. a few seem to be going to/coming from NC so probably shipping BMWs from the Greer plant.

Actually I think Richmond's port is dead anyways.. found references to Subaru there but can't ID a auto port there.. maybe it was for Richmond, CA? dunno.
