The cheapest way to make your car faster is to lose weight, on the car and yourself. In your case, you can't lose anymore. I respect what've done but this build is very extreme, the using zip-ties for weight reduction, *insert Bruh meme*
Cool idea even though you should be defined as legally insane. lol

Tire weight?

I didn't search your entire thread but I didn't see any mention of your tires. If you are running 17x8 wheels, I am guessing that you are not still running the stock tires. If not, what do your new tires weigh?
I ask because I have been looking for lightweight tires close to the OEM size. Two of the lightest tire models that I have come up with are the Kumho Ecsta LE Sport in 205/45R17 and the Hankook Ventus V12 evo2.
What did you end up buying?

Oh yeah, good catch. I didn't even realize I never posted my tire weights. Tires were one of the few things I bought without a concern for weight, but of course I did weigh them before I put them on. I had to dig this photo up from December. They're Nitto NT01 245/45 17's.

26lbs 7.4oz (26.463lbs)

Tires are the one place where weight is negated by pure mechanical grip provided by superior material. You can sacrifice 3lbs. per corner and still obtain the most superior cornering, accelerating, and braking performance.

I forgot to update, but just over a week ago I put my stock crank pulley back on. It was very depressing digging it out of storage and once again feeling the difference between it and the Raceseng one.

Apparently it's pretty common knowledge that running a flywheel and a crank pulley on an EJ motor is bad juju. But it also seems to be a bad for the ol' FA, based on this thread. So I went back to the stock pulley. I don't know that to be 100% the case, but the guy is convincing enough to make me not want to take the risk.

Note to self: need to update crank pulley and water pump pulley weights.

Do you have a lightweight flywheel? It seems like that would be the place to loose the weight anyway.

Yes, and that's the problem; you can't have both. And I had the lightest of each... potentially very bad.

Obviously the flywheel is more beneficial (and a pain in the diϲk to change) so I put the stock pulley back on. So much for my F1 revs I was used to.

Why such huge and heavy tires? Those will radically change your gearing and unless you are packing a turbo... Not at all for the better.

The stock wrx tires (Dunlop sport maxx rt) are a good compromise of everything and weigh 18lbs in 225/45/17.

I saw 245 and thought that is perfect for his 17x8, it is what I am running.. then I saw it was a 245/45R17. That really needs to be 245/40R17 which is something like 2mm taller in Diameter than stock tires as opposed to something like 27mm taller.

Oh, really? I definitely didn't meant to get bigger-than-stock tires. It's been so long since I bought them, I can't remember how I picked the size. I bought the car used, and I'm thinking that was the size of the tires it came with. Maybe? I want to change my final drive eventually, so I'll definitely get some smaller tires next time around. I'm actually kind of happy to know that the car is as fast as it is with the taller ratio.

If you are swapping the final drive later I would keep the tires you have since they will perform better than the smaller ones when geared better. If you aren't regearing, then smaller tires are a must.

I dont know about that. A 1 inch tire height difference is pretty extreme. It's like running a 3.9 diff as is. You don't gain any tread width with a taller tire and gain sidewall flex and weight. I don't see the advantage here.
