Whoa the author of the article posted on here. Nice!

Btw, I love all the ignorant comments below. Some people honestly just don't get it and only are into paper numbers.

One i found is Toyota GT86... GT is a model grade. If you gonna state GT86, mind as well state BRZ limited/premium or JP ver would of been Type-R/Type-S. Actual name is Toyota 86. Also if you gonna talk about FR-S, prob better stating SCION instead of Toyota. Because, Toyota ver do come with ACC & push start... but not SCION ver. Autoblog is a famous auto blog site. Not only US ppl read the article. Good idea to make sure UK or other country ppl won't get confused between Toyota 86, Subaru BRZ & SCION FR-S.

That's just my 2 cents.

As for the rest, it was an interesting read

I believe so. Hence references to the car as the GT/86/FR-S.

You just corrected him saying the name is just 86, but you didn't say where either.

About 6th paragraph. I'm currently on my phone, so can't say 100% but it should be 5th or 6th one

We're talking about this, right?

As far as nomenclature goes, the coupe would be sold as the Toyota GT 86 in Asia and Europe, while the North American marketplace would brand it as the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ.
When you told him that GT is a trim and 86 is the model, you didn't specify that that is for Asia and that GT86 is still correct for Europe.

This is why they should have kept one name for all markets...

I love autoblog commentary. Bunch of whiners, trolls, and misfits. One dude says,"For that price I can get a v6 Mustang." 10 people respond with, "yeah, but then you would have a v6 Mustang."

Yeah... That is one of the interesting issues that come up when writing for the "Internet" as the stories are read all over the world -- I tend to write as if only North Americans are reading the content (I'll be more mindful, as that is a good suggestion).

I drove the FR-S/86/BRZ in Tokyo in late November (test mules, including the Nurburgring car), so it was nice to spend time with it again in the States. Please let me know if you have questions, as I may be able to answer them. Don't ask my why Toyota has so many names for it, as it frustrates us too.

Whatever you call it, it's a pretty kick-ass car that is a blast to drive (I wrote on my personal Facebook page that it is one of my favorites under US$30,000).

Oh yeah, they are very interesting comments... I get a kick out of reading them. The only part that sucks is when they try to personally attack me saying I don't know how to drive or that I don't know what a "fast" or "slow" car feels like (I am in France right now driving a 560 hp SL63 AMG)... just put yourself in my shoes... I have pretty thick skin.

I responded to the Mustang guy. Apples to oranges.
