Renting an FR-S/BRZ in Los Angeles

Any kind chaps here know from which rental company can i rent an FR-S or BRZ?

Am heading to L.A in Nov, planning a drive along Highway 1, figured it will be great if i could rent one for a drive up.

I haven't seen any car rentals with an FRS or BRZ as this car seems to sit in the area between exotic rental and average rental.

You might want to try relayrides.com and deal with someone personally.

But how does this work? I rent from the owner directly? Insurance etc?
What if i (god forbid) smash his/her car??

I haven't personally tried it, but as I understand it, the relayrides.com folks act as the broker for the deal and provide insurance to both the car owner and the renter.

you should rent a convertible mustang instead for your California travel experience. Good chance you might even able to pick it up directly in the airport

Had a rental Camaro convertible on vacation a few weeks ago, all I could think of was how perfect an NA Miata would have been, some very nice twisty roads were had in a very bloated pig...

But bar none it will be the easiest option as you can just pick it up from the airport and drop it off with a reputable (lol) company.

most of Asian countries tax vehicle by engine displacement. So it is very rare to seen or able to drive a muscle cars like camero, mustang or corvette. I think OP is here to travel and not trying to set up time record for canyon roads. i think a good size of backseat or trunk might also worked out for him too. I am sure there are also other better options. some car dealers offers car rentals, if you insist to rent a twin, you can try http://www.toyota.com/rental/FR-S.html

Fair play, missed the tourist from Asia bit, thought he was just in town and potentially not an owner. I'm all for experiencing variety, I know if I went to another country in Europe or Asia I'd sample the local stuff (some sort of wagon/hatch or a kei car), it makes sense to look for an American muscle car when visiting here.

If he is an 86 owner, or at least an enthusiast of the 'light is right' variety a V6 automatic convertible Mustang will be a huge disappointment, especially on Highway 1. Hertz hypes up their 'adrenaline' program offering the big V8's which may be worth it, however they are still A/T's and >800 lbs. heavier than a Toyobaru, all depends on what OP wants.

Yeah, cars in SG are horrifically expensive, i could never afford a V8 with the sky high taxes and all.

Would LOVE to have a go at a proper muscle car.. Perhaps i should consider power and sound over handling...

Lemme give it some thought.....
