For what you listed, you also put Ohlins R&T as "tuner" coilovers.

Seriously, what about your driving style dictates these exotic multi-adjustable coilovers?

I run Ohlins daily, track, long road trips, and they work perfectly fine.

Your reasoning/premise for limiting to those 5 coilovers is flawed, as far as I see.

Link to the Sachs coilovers? I've only seen the OE

Here's SACHS Performance's page about there aftermarket coilover systems: http://www.zf.com/brands/content/en/...e_dampers.html

A video from them about the coilovers: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9GnXtGBPYc&list=UUKFB9w8mLD5DcSqnYY7bVzg"]Toyota GT with Sachs Performance coilover suspension from ZF - YouTube[/ame]

It's tough to find actual online listings for the coilovers, at least when you're searching from the US, because it's pretty much only European and Japanese sites/shops that carry them. Pricing should be around $2.2-2.4k though.

Damn that's unfortunate for us people in the USA. I've always liked Sachs and I would like to give them a try or at least research it more.

Yeah. There's a really good blog out there on a SACHS equipped GT86 in Japan, but it's all in Japanese and the English is pretty broken when you translate the page. You can get most of the gist though.

I do plan on getting their coilovers though. (I work in marketing for ZF, although I am not representing them on here, so the employee discount makes them a bit more affordable lol)

Shipping is going to be outstanding, but the price point tells me little effort was put into developing the kit.

Ohlins makes an excellent product and the price is right. You get a DFV damper, top plates, and all of the swaggin' rights that come with the brand name.

We use them alot for off-road applications, and the build quality is always solid. From all of the reviews, it seems like they did a good job of tuning this application.

If I have to pick from the list, AST. Preferrably the Mann Engineering units with Swift springs (they normally come with Hyperco, which is perfectly fine) and CasCam plates.
Actually the way you valve dampers is different between Swift and Hyperco. Hyperco is actually a very good spring and is a spring I would prefer over Swift for specific dampers. If the damper is developed with Swift springs, then the Hyperco would exhibit a different behavior.

I believe I read that one. It was nice and made me wish we have the availability here

Just because they're cheap doesn't mean they put little effort into it.

If they were being sold directly in the US, price point would likely be a fair bit higher (mainly because of shipping costs and the mark up incurred from that). Being a European based company, the parts come cheaper (just in terms of price) over there. I'd still expect this to fairly high quality kit, considering SACHS also makes dampers and other suspension components for F1, DTM, Rally, and other professional race cars. They have always been regarded as a manufacturer of very high quality parts, especially in the BMW crowd.

That being said, I wouldn't put this on the same level as a JRZ or Moton system (but those are also significantly more expensive). I'd say it's probably around the same territory as KW V3s in terms of quality.

There is availability here, it's just a bit more involved. You need to directly contact ZF Race Engineering in Northville, MI.

You are correct, but doesn't mean it's completely refined either. Something has to give in the name of project scope.

Based on branding, I would expect the Sachs to be better than the KW V3, but that's all speculation until proven with data and experience.

I'd certainly agree with that, and their full on race suspension setups are right up their with the highest end suspension systems on the market, but then we're talking around $7-10k suspension systems.

From what I can tell, this kit was designed to be a high qaulity and also affordable coilover kit for the average enthusiasts. I'd rank it right around KW V3s in terms of price point and relative quality. Obviously I'd expect it to perform better than the KWs too, but I don't want to make a judgement call before seeing data or actually using them.

Yes...the Sachs def look good. Doesn't the high end porsche GT3 cars use Sachs and use Sachs for their professional cars?

AST being sold at Vorshlag looks very nice too and in the $3k range.

Would love to hear more about the lower priced Motons though
