The insurance on Corvettes actually isn't that high for what it is. I used to work in insurance, quoting multiple companies in multiple states, so I've seen the numbers.

For the sake of killing time and keeping the conversation going, yes I think that you could make an frs "better" than a stock Z06. Especially if you drop that kind of cash. Personally I think you could do it for less. And for those of you that do your own upgrades and use the FRS as a project car, the self gratification of everything coming together adds to the "better" experience. Don't get me wrong, the Z06 is a beast of a machine, it'll walk an FRS all day on it's worst day but the pleasure you'll get for being able to slightly hang with the Z06 will be very pleasurable.

Sorry, but no. As a performance car, the Z06 does everything much better than a FRS/BRZ. Unless you plan on completely re-engineering the FRS chassis/suspension, then no it's not going to happen. I'm not saying the Z06 is the greatest ever or anything but there is a lot more to the package than just horsepower.

Apparently people get butt hurt when it comes to this subject. Just to name 4 different mindsets that stand out on here.

- Keep a FA20 in a twin enthusiasts (realizes it requires a ton a money to make serious and sustainable power / Anti-2JZ, LS, RB, and other types of engine swaps).

- Corvette enthusiasts (thinks this car is the best since sliced bread / Nay-Sayers of the potential of highly modified twins). Remember this is a BRZ/FRS forum not for a Corvette!

- Pro-engine swap twin enthusiasts (confident of the 2JZ/LS-performance / most are already experienced with this engine).

- Sideline folks who either don't give a shit or like to talk nonsense out of their rears.

I understand most of their point of views but at the end of the day people choose what ever destination for their vehicles. Who cares which route they go. If it is a fast ass BRZ/FRS, that only compliments the potential of this car!

Only reason that the entire thread upsets me is because when people go around acting like the Twins are the end all be all of cars, it makes the rest of us look like ass-hats. I actually have to be seen driving around my car and I don't like that the community is turning into the new Civic or WRX community in their way of thinking.
