there has not been any spy shots of the brz at any US ports yet. the only ones we've seen were the first 86 cars.

either subaru is doing a really good job sneaking these brzs in US shores, or theyre on the altair leader vessel or some other ship.

In one port for the FR-S only.

No one has even checked any of the East Coast ports. If I lived in RI I'd check but it's a wee bit of a drive for me lol

They likely aren't sneaking them anywhere, they just don't leak info as much (this should be obvious by now) and no one has bothered to go check.

If they are even trying to keep to a mid may date then there is ZERO chance those first cars are on the Altair Leader. The dates simply don't work.

For the first BRZs to be on that ship, we are looking at early June deliveries at best.

Wait, how do you know BRZ's are already in country? Do you have confirmation?

No.

The dates for this ship don't work for the first month (May) deliveries. I'd bet that they are June deliveries. Unless there will be no May deliveries then it seems impossible for these to be the first BRZs that will arrive. May 15th arrival in port means, at BEST, early June to the dealers and later for dealers farther from the port.

I thought we agreed that this ship will be arriving in Long Beach by May 15th? Although the USA Today article in the other thread posted that Subaru is forecasting west coast deliveries starting by the end of this month, this ship still would arrive in time for the original prediction of mid-May for deliveries. I don't think these cars will be sitting in port for longer than a week.

According to the USA Today article the first BRZs won't be at East Coast dealers until late May, so this could be the Eat Coast boat.

Subaru expects its West Coast dealers to start getting cars this month, and forecasts that all dealers will have them by late next month. Scion says the FR-S won't be on sale until June.
I'll swing by Quonset Pt tomorrow and see what I can find, but I am 99% sure there's nothing there. If the cars were on the ground we'd have vins and ETAs from our dealers

what about the dealers that are close to the ports? doesn't may 28th or something sound reasonable? that would still count as a may delivery.

Florida area training rep is saying after the dealer meeting (which is the first week of may) deliveries will start. I doubt he means 3 weeks later, but who knows.

Forgetting about customs and all that paperwork? The cars won't move right away, they will sit in lots for a bit before being loaded into trucks. They won't roll off the RoRo straight to a car hauler.

Also, Subaru DOES NOT have a port in Long Beach, so if this ship arrives in Long Beach May 15th (or 12th) then it's not to drop off Subarus. It may be for FR-S cars, but that doesn't help me any :P

I spotted a group of BRZs being towed by unicorns and steered by leprechauns into a cargo ship being piloted by Captain Crunch.

I swear to God I'm going insane waiting for my damn BEEAREZEE!!! Ahhh!!

Seriously this thread rocks and whoever started should be arrested for emotional abuse lol.

I don't have any facts.. this is purely a guess.. But here's what I think..

A few weeks ago they predicted April 20th as a ship date. Sounds like one of the ships left on the 23rd. This is technically only one day late thanks to the weekend.

Some google-fu shows that most large container ships (and I assume car-carriers as well) can travel at about 25 knots cruising speed.. Let's factor in slow down for high traffic areas and harbor approaches and we'll knock the average down a few.. Say 22 knots. That is about 25 mph.

We know that FRS and BRZ come from the same plant, so it would make sense that they would go to the same port... Long Beach as discussed earlier in this thread. So I'm predicting LA area as destination for both cars.

5450 miles give or take.. at 25 mph = 218 hours or a little over 9 days. I think this is consistent with what Jack Hollis said at the first86 event last week.

So if the ship left on the 23rd, I would think arrival in Long Beach would be likely on May 1st or 2nd.

There is a thread in FRS section that says a guy in Portland is already expecting deliver on May 6th.. That might be possible if his car is on a truck and out of the port in a day or two.

But, let's say 1 week in port and 1 more week in transit to the rest of the midwest/west regions.. Seems to me that the "mid-May" predictions are very reasonable.

It's just a port, not a dealership. Considering they're coming out of the same factory, I can't imagine Toyota not allowing Subaru to put cars there. Customs does not take long, I was generous in saying they'll be in port for a week. My friend's car cleared customs in 2-3 days.
