Sometimes you don't even need data... you just need someone faster than you in the car. Last weekend at our 24h AutoX, I was running 45.5s. I knew there was half a second left in the car, I Just had to find it. Then I threw my alien friend in... he runs a 44.5 in it. After cursing his good name for a while, I set out to find it. No SoloStorm, no video, just beating my head against a wall until I figured out where the time was.

Put someone fast in your car, let them set a time, then chase that.

while it is almost impossible to run self analysis on race day without absolute concentration and equipment setup (I have not yet been able to do this)

had I been there as support, logged both his and your runs, I would be able to tell you within 5-10 minutes of where you're losing time compared to him and save you from a nasty concussion.

I think this will be a great fit for me since I overdrive corner entries quite often.
I think you're the only other person I know besides myself on the Hotchkis bar. Any chance you'll try full stiff?

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys in person next week. I'll be in the black FR-S with bright green numbers and hopefully bright green wheels. I will be well out of my comfort zone but I am fairly friendly so please come and say hi to me!

My initial impression is I will need full soft when on street tires in CS and full stiff on the race tires in CSR. I just over drive the crap out of street tires in corner entry so I dont have any problem with oversteer.

I used the hotchkis bar (full soft) for a full season and have tried the strano bar, before switching to my current bar. I thought the strano bar was a bit too soft. Is it possible that your strano bar was binding?

well, i ended up snapping it half, so yes, it is possible something was wrong with my bar. I dont think it was binding, I was able to rotate it in the bushings easily.

I tried it too. It's laying in my garage for the past 18 months lol. Way too much for grippy surfaces for me. It was awesome in Dirtyland (DeLand) as you get legitmate 6 foot dust roostertails behind you. This was on full soft

how tight are the mounts supposed to be torqued? I def can't rotate the bar with one hand... hmm.

also, pics of the snap? (I have John's old strano bar... really curious now, haha)

I think the bolt is like 55 and the nut is like 35 ft lbs. I could rotate all three bars by hand when they were 'installed' off the car. oem, strano, and hotchkis. The hotchkis rotates very easy, i assume because the bushing has a ton of large grease passages.

Dont take this is anything more than what it is, it appears to be a manufacturing defect combined with a TON of runs on very sticky race tires. Sam is working with me to get a new bar without giving me any shit, cant ask for more than that from a vendor.
