We apologize for the delay on this item guys. This is still going to happen. Truth be told, we had to shift our focus on getting the oil cooler system and header ready first, since we received so many PMs and such on these items. The oil cooler systems are being packaged this week. We are working on the installation instructions too.

So a while ago I showed some of you a custom firewall strut tower brace I was coming up with to clear the 4" intake pipe. Do these things really help? I'm not sure, but I suspect they help with high speed turns. They wouldn't just be there for looks. Anyways, I'm getting closer to building the final product. I made sure this will clear the hood and it also clears the pipe. I will test fit the first set. The bracket is stronger/thicker than the pipe in the event of a front collision so hopefully the bar will bend or snap out the way and not punch through the firewall. The bar is only 18" long or so, so I wouldn't be too worried either way. Here are some pics:
Early mock-up of the design with paper and cardboard. ![]() And the brackets. ![]() ![]() ![]()

@rb6freak
There is a (albeit artifical and controversial) test for tower flex: http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=411550 Would be neat to see if the towers do move. |

Looking to buy APR CF cooling plate, but just wondering if the air guide thing in front of the intake would be in the way? Anyone added a cooling plate?

I don't have direct experience with the APR cooling plate but I'd be interested in seeing data that shows such a thing makes more than a negligible difference. I've seen these things used as amazing tool holders though.

Correction: sheet metal.
The black air flow guide thing in front of the intake so that air coming in is guided to the intake...I don't know the official name of it lol. Haha ya it probably doesn't make too much of a difference if any but I use my car for show too and its a good addition to the engine bay
