"In 2007, however, the company was left without a partner when Williams chose to switch to Toyota Racing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia power, and Scuderia Toro Rosso made the switch to Scuderia Ferrari - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia engines (as used in 2006 by their mother team Red Bull Racing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). In Max Mosley's letter following the withdrawal of Honda from Formula One in December 2008, it was announced that Cosworth had won the tender to provide a standard engine to any interested participants. The new engine would become the standard design and manufacturers could opt to use whole units, construct their own from designs provided by Cosworth, or produce their own engine with the caveat that it be limited to the same power as the new "standard" engine.
In 2010 Cosworth returned as the engine supplier for Williams Grand Prix Engineering - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and three new teams; HRT Formula 1 Team - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, Team Lotus (2010–11) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and Virgin Racing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia."

Obviously, you're the expert on correct info as usual on the wrong side of facts.
I certainly agree with all your tedious Wikipedia copy/paste.

Where you're just plain wrong is here :

I think broadly speaking you can't deny Cosworth's involvement is anything other than significant, no matter how much you reference Wikipedia. I'd actually ask people who've had past experience in F1 and Cosworth, see what they have to say.

See what they have to say about what? I'm not sure what sort of drugs people are taking these days but nobody said anything about Cosworth's place in history of F1. It's about one self proclaimed 'expert' in F1 simply being WRONG about the facts as usually self proclaimed experts are on the internet.

I can't believe there are people here referencing Wikipedia as if Formula One's own website, which isn't far removed from the FIA itself, is something lacking credibility.

You want something from Cosworth's own website and one it's own employees? Here:

I have visited many factories: Apexi Japan (I used to work there), Greddy Japan, HKS Japan, and a couple of other tuning parts manufacturer factories in Japan. I was impressed with each one for their manufacturing facilities, R&D equipment, and general success. Just seeing the sheer quantity of parts being produced and the level of technology also impressed me. However, nothing really prepared me for my visit to Cosworth (where I now work).

Cosworth’s UK office is located in Northampton about 50 minutes north of London in the United Kingdom. For those of you who have never heard of Cosworth, it is the winningest engine supplier in Formula 1 of all time. This of course led to wins in all kinds of motorsport including, but not limited to, WRC, various touring car series, Le Mans, various formula car series, and more. Cosworth is also responsible for designing the drivetrains in some of the baddest ass road cars in Europe including the Cosworth Sierra, Ford RS200, Ford RS500 Cosworth, and the Aston Martin DB9 to name a few. With the loss of F1 (no customers), now Cosworth concentrates on aerospace machining, engineering services, race engine design consulting (for many of the companies that you and I worship), oem engine and drivetrain development, and of course, performance parts for road cars (what I do)."

It is rumoured that one person on GT86oc has bought the first stage. I don't imagine he/she'd admit to it now though.

I don't see what the big deal is. Its not as expensive as everyone thought it was going to be ($2800). When you factor in the cost of each component, the parts people care about (exhaust, tune) are marginally more expensive than some competitors.

It will be interesting to see what people say when the Stage 2 and 3 get released.

Why not? just because its expensive doens't mean its bad kit?

anyway if you were there at the launch what else is coming down the pipe?

Not at all, but the general consensus is that you can get the same result from buying different components of the same quality etc, but for far less, so you'd have to be a major badge-whore to purchase this.

In terms of what's coming next, it's pretty obvious from the video they released ages ago. The final stage is a supercharger. But the price that will be doesn't include the lube you'd need to pay such an amount.

Oh, and another 'Cosworth and F1' thing.

Great, they take a piston out of every engine they built and print the name of the driver, car and the race it took part, very cool to see.

Not so great, they spelt Ayrton wrong.

You think?

I'm sure Cosworth are watching this forum as would any FRS vendor

if they've any sense they'll be thinking very carefully about the price point for the next stage

surely they've got be market competative or they won't sell ?

Once again coming into a thread to find valuable info and you find argument and disagreement or senseless babel about irrelevant subjects.

If you want valuable information, go to the FI section. This shit is overpriced. At least get what you pay for.
