Real answer? My jack sat too high to fit under the car. Need to get a low-profile jack.

Harbor Freight is having a parking lot sale this week, I believe. They have a low profile floor jack for about $75 that would be perfect.

Ugh harbor freight

Idk about you, but ordering cheap chinese stuff, to hold up the amazing glory that is the frs, would bother me.

I made the mistake of ordering a metal lathe from them, and had to return it 3 times just to get one with all the parts included and minor cosmetic defects.

I would be hesitant even buying a screwdriver from them

You're also 17 and have limited time working on cars. I've had Craftsman tools from Sears break - it happens. Their floor jacks are fine. Feel free to ask around the forum and find similar sentiment.

And really, the FR-S is great, but it's a cheap sports car in the end. HF tools are fine.

Yeah... My low profile jack and jack stands are holding up just fine. Going on 5 years now.

This jack goes on sale a lot. I wouldn't buy it for more than that. Used it once already to change my oil. Seems to work fine but IMO it's not low enough. Any lowering done to the car would not clear the saddle height of the jack.

Also I didn't screw on the pole tightly before trying to pump the jack and it started spitting hydraulic juice. Works fine after I screw it on tightly and try jacking again. Is this sign that I may need another one

Im lowered 1.5 inches on coils and it fits under the factory jacking points in the front and rear.

You should only use the stock jack on the sides.... For a normal floor jack you use the front and back jacking points
