-It is a known issue.
-There is no recall, just a TSB.
-It will most likely chirp again, no matter how many time its replaced.
-Don't trust everything the dealerships tell you.

-E0 gas seems to help, but its not a 100% fix.
-2-cycle oil also has mixed success.
-The crickets seem to fade over time, but again its not 100%.
-The car is still a joy to drive and there is no indication that this will lead to mechanical failure.

There, just summarized 200 pages of this thread for you.

I seriously wonder how many people come into this thread and read the OP. But you are correct.

Its hard to tell how much its really doing because im filling up from empty every time. Third time using a bottle of lucas oil complete fuel system cleaner with BP 93. Every time its stopped for about 2 weeks then come back. Its been frequent this past week, I used the fuel system cleaner while filling up before a drive from Tampa to Jacksonville. Didn't hear them on the 3 and a half hour drive and haven't heard them while driving around up here yet.

I drive back to Tampa sunday then from Tampa to Daytona next Friday for GRC. If I don't hear them still by the time im back from Daytona im just going to start using it every two weeks.

Just got my BRZ back from the dealer yesterday to get the fuel pump replaced for the second time due to the crickets. Looks like this will never end! Oh well, as long its not a true mechanical issue, no real worries...

Just my opinion here, probably the third or fourth time repeating it....

At this point, replacing the pump only extends the time that you have to deal with the loudest crickets. The number of times I have seen in this thread now "replaced the pump--AND THE CRICKETS ARE BACK LOUDER THAN EVER!!!" is too many to count at this point. My crickets are still present, but more muted than newer cars or those who have replaced the pump. I still have the original.

To those of you who have said "well, if enough people replace it, Toyobaru will HAVE to release a fixed pump," I think its pretty obvious that Toyobaru isn't planning on this unless it becomes a failure issue, which it hasn't been shown to be as of yet. One owner even had an experimental sound insulated pump installed which did nothing (FRS_Matt, as I recall)

So, as I said in an earlier post, "Accept the crickets, love the crickets." Because they aren't going away anytime soon.

I have a 2015 BRZ and the crickets just moved in. After reading these posts, I think I'll apply for a vanity plate that reads "Jiminy" and then call it a day. Thanks for recapping the info.

Embracing the crickets like a pro. I need cricket decals and a rebadge.

I'm surprised the dealers are even entertaining replacements, let alone two of them. Surely someone on their end knows that it's not a big deal and that the device is operational and therefore doesn't need replaced?

I love the crickets. Who needs camping when you can just idle at a stop sign or in your own driveway and hear the same noise?

I also thought they would be aware of it and understand its not a real issue. When I went in for service last it started chirping as I brought it in. They wanted to look further into it and warned me of possible damage by continuing to drive it. I told them it wasn't an issue and that they've already replaced it once and I didn't want it replaced again. I explained to him what I knew about it and told him what I've been doing to keep them away. And this was a big dealership in Tampa. Suprising to me that its still new to them. Or they just want to be very by the books.
