Was your mileage similar on stock tune and/or the 1.xx tunes? I have an M/T and I get low 30s on the highway and that's at 75+. If the speed limit here was only 60 I might be able to get mid-high 30s. I'm on the stock tune, should be installing OFT Stage 1 v2.0x tune tonight, we'll see how it does on mileage tomorrow.

I'm at about 25-26MPG MT with Stage 1 2.0.x Tune. Drive maybe 20-30 miles a day.

No other reported instances of reduced fuel economy as far as I know. Just looking at the mapping data itself would suggest that something else is amiss. Nothing that I changed should really effect fuel consumption that much (or at all).

No, I just don't drive like a zombie. I enjoy maintaining my chosen velocity up hills and accelerating out of corners. Perhaps my "offensive defensive driving" could be seen by some as being a ****, but those are the very brain-dead assholes I want to be far away from.

Sorry, AT. Almost always in manual mode, though.

Yeah, I've had mileage below what just about everyone has posted even before the OFT. Next service I'll ask about it again. I paid close attention to gear and RPM today as I went to feed a friends cats. I took my favorite back road to get there, and I rarely got out of third. Took the hiway home, and spent most of the time in fourth, some fifth. In my defense, driving in Oregon requires instant engine response to the actions of the NDF's (non-driving f's) littering the roads. Fifth gear doesn't do it.

Having said that, it's looking like this tank (second fill with gas after E85) is looking to have better MPG despite my best efforts to drive like a (moderately skilled) "****". How can you not with this car?

ETA: Shiv, looking at that thread again with your pics. You and your wife are some fine-looking humans!

My first tank on the new v2.0 I got only 18.5MPG with no highway miles and some wot pulls data logging. It has since came back up to 22 to 24mpg mixed driving which is pretty much normal for me. This is on CA 91 octane gas btw. I don't think I drive like a d ****. Lol

Speaks well for the ECU and Shiv's tuning skill that the car is learning to coexist with d-ick drivers!

ETA: If you have not done so, give E85 a try if you can. Just don't look at the gas gauge as anything other than a doodad the tells you when it's time to think about a pit stop.

ETA again: The fun with this car is not getting it loose, but having it just on the edge as often as possible. It's a brilliant fucking car, and the OFT makes it better.

70mph in 4th is roughly 3900rpm in an Auto.

Learn to shift or let it do it for you in sports auto, or learn to drive in general.

Totally wouldn't bother with the dealer with such driving habits.

I learned to drive in a three-in-the-tree Rambler and have been driving for about 45 years now, almost all of that in manual cars and on bikes. I'm almost positive I don't need to "learn to shift or let it do it for you in sports auto, or learn to drive in general". Odd how that RPM in fourth is right at the end of (in my car at least) the dreaded torque dip, just what I don't want to be in when I need to accelerate on demand without (much) delay on the hiway. Given the bit of hiway I must cover to and from and the "drivers" sharing the road, fourth gear is entirely appropriate. The FR-S AT is a very nice transmission that gets it right almost always, but when it doesn't it sucks.

However, I am willing to subscribe to your newsletter in case there is something you know that I don't. Always willing to learn from someone who knows more than I do. You do suck at reading comprehension, though.

An eco friendly tune would be a god send for those that want to make long trips where a few MPG's would be highly appreciated when you are at highway speeds 98% of the trip.

Cruise in 6th, for "your" defensive driving needs, make sure you are always ready to tap the lever 2 times, punch throttle.

Or leave it in auto, then just punch throttle if you care so much about mileage.

Actually, pretty sure defensive driving courses will actually teach you not to swerve and punch the gas when you see something.
Let alone driving at 3900rpm on the highway and cutting into people's lanes when you think you see something at perhaps 60 years of age?

You want to drive it like V8s in 6th? Be prepared for crappy mileage if you are doing it by running at 3900rpm on the highway.
Not rocket science, but I see how the 45 years of driving would make you think you need to take it to a dealer.

There is absolutely no good reason to leave it in fourth, there's why you get such horrible mileage.

If you need to accelerate plan half a second ahead and downshift.
