I have an old set of V710s + a codriver, but I'd rather go against the best. Plus, I'm pretty sure we'd be as fast on our "street" tires.

Less than two weeks away!

I thought about it as well haha. 3 drivers would be easy enough to get but I decided I didn't want to spend $1300 on A6s lol

CP only does the parade lap so they can break at least one thing before competing so they have time to fix it.

I think CP just gets it because it's all a bunch of old guys who can't complete a coursewalk

(I'm going to duck now)

I've heard they get a very low speed parade lap at nationals. Some tradition that goes back a ways.

Ok guys, I have only been to Nats once, 2 years ago, and I drove someone else's car. So, I am trying to put a list together of things I need to remember and thought here might be a good place so that people could add things I forget and other less experienced Nationals attendees would also get use out of the list...

- Helmet
- Checkbook
- Air tank/compressor
- Air gauge
- Numbers/Class
- Stickers (you can get all of these at Nationals for a small fee, right?)
- Chair
- Sunscreen
- Hat
- License and SCCA card
- Water Sprayer (if you need)
- Small must-have tool kit (?)
- Jack and torque wrench (probably good to have even if you aren't changing tires)
- Change of shoes and socks (for rain)
- Poncho (see above)
- Gold Bond (courtesy of blkwrxwag)
- Carbs
- Electrolyte replenishing
- Beer

I highly recommend some blue label Gold Bond to prevent any unnecessary chafing of the boys while walking course 10 times!

Not nats specific but... no autocross of mine is complete without a small cooler containing:

1. water and powerade (alternate between the two)

2. high fat and protein sandwiches. High grade tuna flakes mixed with mayo, mustard, and some spices make an excellent filler to go between two slices of toasted rye or whole wheat bread.

keep the batch of tuna premixed in one container and the toasted bread in another, if cooled properly can last you whole weekend. Eat a small amount every hour or so during the day.

I probably consume 2000-2400 calories during an autocross day, this is not counting a steak+eggs breakfast and whatever is for dinner.

and I'm only 160lb!

nothing feels better than ending a raceday and not feeling like someone ran you over with a truck, especially if it's a 2-day event.

CP traditionally does a low speed parade lap on their second day of competition
after all the days runs have completed on that course. if you are in the neightborhood
you might be lucky enough to get mooned by one (or more) CP driver!
reportedly nobody has suffered permanent blindness but i refuse to take any chances...
