I had a bit of a facepalm moment when I realized it had left Kobe and not Tokyo, but it's still the only NYK RoRo vessel currently in the pacific ocean. So unless they're using a different carrier than NYK it appears that this is our boat.

to go back a couple pages....
Buoyancy, in order for something to float or be buoyant, it must displace it's own weight in water. this is why glaciers are "mostly" below the surface, ice expands somewhat when it freezes, so it now displaces more area than is equivalent to its weight in (fluid) water (it is still water). so in order for something to float it's CofG above the waterline, it's density must be less than half that of water's it would also require a huge base to prevent turtling, commonly keels of ships are filled in large part with lead this lessens roll lowers CofG and allows the boat to still sail without cargo. (ever seen an empty cargo ship leave port it surely would topple with out a counter-weighted keel) |

So the Altair Leader is currently in harbor, at 35.49606˚ / 139.7712˚.
go to maps.bing.com (they have better imagery) and punch in '35.49606,139.7712'. Click 'Birds Eye' view, zoom in a bit, and you get this: ![]() Zoom in, pan a bit to the left, and you get this: ![]()

I dunno it looks like a bunch of other Subaru's to me no? Remember the BRZ's don't have sunroof's.

furthermore, because it is next to a subaru warehouse, i think feedbag is implying that the brz/frs are probably being loaded as we speak.

Here's a picture of how the cars are loaded in the boat. Looks like it would be crazy top heavy to me, they really must have to lug around a ton of crap in the bottom of the boat to keep it upright if that is indeed what they do. Pretty interesting stuff. ![]() Just to prevent any confusion, this is not a live image of BRZs being loaded onto a boat Last edited by Spaceywilly; 04-24-2012 at 09:21 PM. |

Hm, it seems like they just update with less frequently when at sea. (hence less accurate / detailed paths) |
