If you want a car that will smoke both of them and at a better price (new) by a 2012 V6 Mustang. 305 HP and 31mpg highway. 0-60 in 5.1 and 1/4 mile in 13.7. Stock. And it beat the 2011 Subaru WRX STI and Nissan 370Z around VIR Grand West course by several seconds. And it was limited to a 114 mph top speed while they are both governed to 155+ MPH. It bounced of the top speed limiter for no less than 15 seconds during the race. Take of the governor (easy mod) and it would have REALLY smoked them even worse. RWD FTW

Take the governor off the mustang v6 and the driveshaft vibrates and explodes

$550 dollar upgrade fixes that. Big deal. Also its not taking the governor off its running the motor up to 75-80% potential power (or more) and launching hard that breaks the stock drive shaft. Like I said, cheap, easy upgrade eliminates this. Bfd

Ah right, you have an E36, from your reply I was assuming - incorrectly - it was the E46.

If you were talking about a 2010 or older V6 Stang I would agree with you. The new one though is no joke. 305 HP car for $22,000 that handles better than a 370Z... sorry but I dont care if it is a Mustang you can't beat that.

So you're just trolling then?
Badge snobbery from Toyota/Subaru owners or potential owners

I think Mustang is an awesome car. Even with solid rear axle, it drives better than most IRS cars out there. Ford have been polishing SRA over the years, and it becomes just as competitive as IRS. I would buy BOSS302 if I have extra money.

More weight on the driven wheels and front tires digging through the obstacle rather than trying to be pushed over it.

I love the FR-S but not just because it is RWD. It is all about the package or as Toyobaru put it "the balance". If you were only going to but the Scion or Subaru because it is RWD then save the 9K and buy the Honda Civic Si. It is a very good car.
Disagree absolutely - sorry!
I have had several RWD cars with much less than 300 hp (starting form a beetle with just 34 HP....You see, I am not a newbie at the steering wheel, too )

My old BMW E30 320i had just 129 hp: Push it fast through two or three tight corners, and you just can't stop grinning anymore and you're sure that you will NEVER EVER give it away for ANY FWD car - even not one with 300 hp.

But right, it sure all accumulates in fast cornering. For driving a straight road it doesn't matter at all.
