I really like what you're doing with your car. A lot of solid work going into it.

Touge Battle 4, Whiteline KDT925 and Ultra Racing Rear Under Brace Review
Touge Battle 4, Whiteline KDT925 and Ultra Racing Rear Under Brace Review (6-14-14) Three weeks ago, I installed the Whiteline KDT925 outrigger bushings and the Ultra Racing rear under brace to stiffen up the rear end of the car. Seeing how the front whiteline bushings and front under brace added to the responsiveness and rigidity of the car, I wanted to shore up the rear end this time. I also visited Fixstop Auto service and repairs in Quezon City to get my track spec alignment and brake fluid replaced. Fixstop did a great job with the alignment, with their tech not stopping until we got all the specs spot on. I opted to try out Motul RBF600 this time around. The shop also has a great lounge to wait in while your car gets serviced. I passed the time watching game 5 of the NBA finals. ![]() ![]() I like doing these modifications in stages as I see how they work better rather than installing them all at once. Touge battle 4 would be the best way to evaluate these newly installed pieces. ![]() ![]() Whiteline KDT925 review: These bushing inserts do add a bit of NVH, but not a whole lot. With only the outrigger bushings installed coupled with the diff brace, I can truly say that the differential has no slop in it whatsoever. The drivetrain response became more crisp, lessening the delay you feel when you depress the gas pedal for acceleration. Keep in mind that I also have the subframe inserts installed so my results may vary. My NVH may also be more because of the aluminum driveshaft. I also noticed that when powering out of corners the car felt more stable and consistent, although this would be more attributed to the new alignment specs. ![]() Ultra Racing rear under brace review: These braces triangulate the rear LCAs to the subframe. Joining these points make the subframe more solid, as it was just dangling there in space. These also helps when the differential torques the axles during acceleration as it keeps the subframe from flexing under load. During my time attack runs, I noticed the car was more rigid during corner exits and acceleration. I also had the feeling that the car was more predictable during long sweepers and feathering the throttle was easier in turns now. ![]() Track spec alignment was a great tweak, as turn in and corner exits were way better than my last alignment. More camber in front meant faster steering response and less push, while less camber at the rears meant more traction when accelerating. The car is a dream to drive now, I can be on the power earlier out of corners. I also had to tone my dampers a bit with the new specs, around 3 clicks softer for the front, and 5 clicks softer for the rear. I felt I was overloading the tires with the previous damper settings I had. ![]() During time attack, the car posted the 2nd best time of the day across the whole board, besting even the race car times. The only car that was faster was a 2013 GTR. Not too shabby for an AT car right? ![]() ![]() ![]() RBF600 performed flawless with the Acre 900C pads, never a hint of fade the whole day. The RBF600 is very similar to the AP super 600 race fluid I had the last few track events. Oil temps peaked at 115degC, with oil pressures holding at 3-4bar during the races. ![]() Race proper was a bit different as we were hit by pouring rain. I was classed with the GTR and some Imprezzas which had better 4wd traction in the wet. I still had fun semi drifting out of corners in the rain though. I need more practice on wet conditions now. I finished 3rd overall with another podium for the car. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Geez the time and detail put into your FR-S is amazing but how you document and review every upgrade is on another level. I can't wait to really get in and read your reviews on each part and how the characteristics of your car changed. Nicely done, respect for sharing your opinion and knowledge!!

TRD Rear Side Spoiler Install and Review
TRD Rear Side Spoiler Install and Review ![]() Time for another cosmetic upgrade for the car. TRD came out with what they call "rear side spoilers" which are in essence, glorified extensions of the rear ducktail spoiler. Theoretically, these help smooth out airflow on the rear portion of the car, plus it gives you more TRD things to stick on your car. ![]() I wasn't able to get the pre painted part this time, because they had none in stock. Going with the unpainted version gets you a discount, but makes up for it when buying paint and paying for the paint process itself. It still turned out cheaper than the painted version though. The unpainted version comes primed and ready to paint, surface perfect for that first coat of paint. ![]() The kit includes the two spoilers, instructions, and a surface cleaner. Install was pretty straightforward. ![]() The kit finishes off the rear end nicely, with a perfect fit. Great piece from TRD. Before: After:![]() My only complaint with it is why they did not include the same weather strip they had with the ducktail spoiler. It would have blended seamlessly with the whole body kit. ![]() ![]()

Nice addition. Reminds me a bit more of the small wing we get as standard on German GT86.

Tire Penz Project (8-20-14)
Tire Penz Project (8-20-14) ![]() A friend of mine recently started selling this product and I wanted to try these out. I used it on my track tires, as they had better logos on their sidewalls. The Tirepenz is really pretty easy to use, as the paint adheres to the rubber reasonably well. ![]() ![]() ![]() Things go on a little easier if you pool some paint in a water bottle cap. Tirepenz is a great tool to get that race look for you race tires. A great DIY project on a lazy afternoon with great results. My wife even had fun doing it with me! ![]() ![]()
