I noticed that, too, and my dealer quoted the same national MSRP prices that also show up on the Subaru website when you put in a New England zip code. However, it doesn't add up to me because I keep hearing that the "Boch tax" is anywhere from $200 to $400. So, I'd like to see something more concrete.

One of the downsides of buying in New England. Ernie needs to build a new pool house for the Automatics.

I am #2 at Planet Subaru, they aren't taking deposits until they know the MSRP for sure but I'm only the Second serious buyer that has approached them. They are getting 5 this year and as soon as the NE MSRP is released I will be ordering mine and placing a deposit.

Little confused by this. I live in maine and was able to put a deposit down with a definate price and MSRP. I signed it to make sure that price would never change.

edit: here are the specifics. Limited MT.

28245 msrp + delivery
299 doc fee
1427 sales tax
34 title fee (same for all Maine)
==========
30005.20 total

Some dealers are working off of MSRP, but if Subaru of New England sets a price higher than MSRP, the dealer may be required to adjust their pricing. So your total may change.

Partial_Stall, you didn't include delivery charge in your final total.

I stepped off the BRZ train today...got my deposit back and paid off my student loans instead. I'll pick up next year's release, that's the plan. Hopefully we're not playing the limited production game anymore when that time comes around.

I just put a deposit down for mine with Subaru of Keene. I was originally going to go with Manchester Subaru, but they initially told me I needed a non-refundable deposit, when I backed out he said he meant to say he needs a REFUNDABLE deposit... The salesman in Keene was very nice though and I'm glad I'm going through them.

Mine's ordered through Wellesley Scion; coming down to the home stretch, and scheduled to pick up on release day, June 1st. It's been an interesting ride, considering I put down the deposit in May 2011, after the first pictures of the Nurburgring mule leaked out. In the past couple of months, I was able to sit in it, and drive it, and those experiences confirmed that I truly love this car, that it's not just lusting after stats, pictures, and videos. Then again, I've been chasing after the AE86 since I saw my neighbor's SR5 notchback in the late 80's.

I'm sitting on the fence right now, I feel ya. I really don't need this car right now nor am I in the best financial position to afford it (had a couple setbacks after placing my deposit) and I can lease an Audi A3 TDI for about $50/mo with no down payment and it gets over 40mpg... With the money I save I could put that all towards student loans and be out of debt a year earlier. And I already have a Toyota MR2 in the garage, so it's not like I'd be totally without a fun car... BUT I WANT THE BRZ NOW!!! Ugh.

Total est. expense for down payment, mo. payment and gas for 1st year w/ the BRZ: ~$8450
Total est. expense for down payment, mo. payment and gas for 1st year w/ the A3: ~$2,485

Edit: Nevermind. Just drove the A3 TDI again... I just can't do it; I don't care how cheap it is! FWD+Auto+4800rpm redline just isn't going to work.

When it comes to something you WANT, I've learned not to compromise. Skip that A3 and get the BRZ! It doesn't mean you have to get it right this second though...I've decided it was a good idea to pay off my loans using the money I had saved for a deposit and getting my credit back. By the time I make all tha money back, I'll be in perfect financial condition to afford a BRZ (STI by then?) without living off of ramen noodles. I would like live comfortably within my means, but I do know where my limits are. It's just going to be a matter of how comfortable I can be at those limits. That's my deciding factor. I mean the BRZ isn't going anywhere so I'm not at all worried, I'll have one just not right now. I hope you can arrive at a comfortable solution too, Corey. No car is worth cup noodles everyday let me tell ya...
