Avo owners - gimme a little hand.

Do any of you have:
1) An Ecutek tune (Mine is from The Drift Office)
2) Torque running via bluetooth ODB2
?

My Torque has lost access to a few of the sensors. For instance - oil temp.
Torque is also now reporting some faults with the ODB2 adapter.
It used to work fine.
No CELs or codes.

I am wondering if the new map etc has masked or blocked access to some of the info coming from the ODB2 ports.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you have this kind of setup - could you check and see if you can still see your oil temp sensor via Torque?

Thanks!

I'm running an ECUTEK tune through Delicious and use Torque all the time. Try un-pairing and re-pairing the OBDII adapter, and if that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall Torque.

The Oil temp will require a custom gauge. If you search for it, there are directions somewhere on the forum on how to do it.

From what I understand, I don't think a custom tune can block access to readings on the OBDII port, but I could be mistaken.

I will try these steps - please note - the oil temp sensor was there and working prior to the tune w/o any changes needed to Torque. Once the tune went in - pow - Torque can't see it any more.

I will try to re-install.

Did you have the custom PID setup? Maybe remove and re-add it?

That's really weird

I wonder if some pins in the connector have been damaged.

could also be the obdII to bluetooth. I know I picked up a cheapo online for mine. I haven't had any issues but I've been using a p3 gauge for a while now with no issues on oil temp. Could try hooking up your ecutek and get some logs for oil temp and see if thats working. (assuming you have cable).

Has anyone else here had problems with welds or downpipes cracking? I've been fighting the leaking exhaust gaskets for a bit while waiting for a new header to arrive, but last night the noise got louder. Significantly louder.

We dropped the manifold down a bit to inspect and they seem to be in the same state. When I have the car up on a hoist you can clearly hear a significant exhaust leak. It kinda sounds like it's coming from the downpipe area, but it's next to impossible to see the top of it.

Anyone?

Nevermind, found the issue.

One of the studs on the turbo to header flange backed out and is currently just dangling there. It's the top stud on the passenger side. I have absolutely no idea whatsoever on how i can get a wrench in there to tighten it. It looks like I'm going to have to completely remove the entire turbo/manifold setup to get to this one f'ing stud.

After spending another 2 hours of my time determined to find out where the blowing exhaust is coming from, I confirmed that it was the turbo to header flange

Here's the gasket

I don't think i would be as bitter as I am if I didn't find 3 of the bolts on the flange essentially hand tight and 2 of the studs the same way. I just want to reiterate to anyone installing this, make sure everything is tight before you put the kit in, regardless of it being pre-assembled

Do I need a new gasket or can I just use permatex red?

Edit: Just found a two loose nuts on the downpipe flange too

When I first put together my turbo miata maybe 8 years ago I used a standard metal turbo gasket between the turbine inlet and the exhaust manifold. The thing blew out within a few weeks. After that I took Corky Bell's advice and used no gasket at all. Also used "nordlock" washers on the studs/nuts for good measure. That worked much better. Just had to snug up the bolts maybe once a year.

I had that same gasket crack. My mechanics had a a look at it and said it was a relatively standard sized turbo gasket, I think from garrett or maybe Greddy (it's been 8 months since I did it sorry otherwise I'd get you the part number). Replaced it with a gasket from them and haven't had any issues since.

I thought checking bolt torques before assembly was a given with this kit? They just put them together at factory so everything is there. None of the bolts are torqued to any kind of spec.
