Have you had any catastrophic SPC Lower Control Arm failures?

The failed part you've posted here is clearly not a LCA, a completely different part, and I can't completely discount using SPC Lower Control Arms just because a different part of theirs might have failed.

I can understand as a seller, you might decide to not carry a brand because of failures, but have you had the actual SPC LCA fail catastrophically?

SPL part next to a failed SPC part on one of our sponsored driver's cars.

We have full access to the SPC line, and will sell if it someone insists, but we cannot recommend it. Given SPC's history of failures, we can't, in good faith, say that it's a top quality product. Google SPC upper ball joint failures on the S2000, Toe arm failures on the Z, camber arm failures for the G35, and tension arm failures on the 240SX.

You know your stuff and I sure as hell am not trying to discredit you, but you said that the SPC LCA are $400. They are normally sold individually at around $100 each. On top of that, you failed to mention which version of the SPC control arms you were referring to. Yes the older style did have failures when the were sold for the WRX (I think). The newer ones are pretty much slotted OEM arms. It seems as though you were just bashing.

I have had my set for about 10,000 miles with no issues. I've autoX a few times and routinely run the mountain roads without issue....sooooo....ya.

I'm not a sales person; I apologize for getting the prices wrong. It doesn't change the fact that SPC failures are widespread, even among street driven cars, or that they're normally sold as single pieces.

I've seen a LOT of SPC parts fail over the years, and will not recommend them.

Go to your local race alignment shop, and ask them for their recommendation on FRS/BRZ LCAs.

Also, isn't there a negative camber limit with SPC LCA? I went with SPL LCA to get -2.5 rear camber for track and to avoid potential SPC issues.

Thanks for all the info. I decided to go with Cusco ones, since SPL couldnt be found shipped to Canada for less then 800, something I couldn't justify... Hopefully they are a bit better than SPC and Buddy Clubs, if not, my fault because you guys did provide alot of good info !

I'd say SPL too seeing how you're only dropping the car about an inch and they make great products

If you were going lower, I'd recommend Stance LCAs. Reason being is because they lower the mounting point by 20mm which allows you to retain some of the travel you normally lose when lowering the car, AND they use aurora ends, which absolutely awesome quality. Expensive, yes. But worth it

Bumping an old thread but the question is relevant. Aside from quality, are there any noticeable performance improvements going with a $540 SPL LCA compared to a $210 SPC LCA? I really just need the camber adjustment for my daily driver.

Nope.

Sounds like SPC will be right for you

How much camber adjustment do you need?

I'm running 12mm camber bolts in my inner lower control arm holes. I got half of a degree from each of them, which was perfect for me. The camber from the factory was a degree different from side to side. The bolts evened things out, leaving me at 1.5 degs.

I'm at - 1.9 left and - 2.5 right for the rear. I was hoping to get them both to - 1.5 but even just bringing the right to - 1.9 or - 2.0 to match the left would be okay as that's still within spec.

Are these the bolts you're referring to?
